SIXTH RACE

-

KATIE’S CHAMP found herself farther off the pace than she can be last out after some trouble early on in the race. She is further appealing for the fact that she has an age edge on some of these as she is 4. VENEZUELAN FOREVER meets older rivals for the first time but owns the field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. INSIDE TRIP removes blinkers, a high percentage move for Joseph.

SEVENTH RACE

WHEN IT’S LOVE is a January foal who launches career for stallion who is getting 17 percent juvenile debut winners. This one also shows some nice works for barn that excels with juveniles. DRAMAMINA is another first-time-starter and her young sire is getting 13 percent juvenile debut winners. February foal has half-sibling who was 3-for-5 at 2. HI HI HOLLY has racing experience in her corner, and in her debut last out was facing higher-priced foes.

EIGHTH RACE

VIGAS drew a tough post last out and caught good ground and despite it all ran a credible fourth in what was his first start since January. There are reasons to believe he can move forward in this spot. BIG MONEY MACHINE might be sitting on a peak race in his third start since January. FAN BASE owns some competitive Beyer Figures.

NINTH RACE

VOW ME NOW had a less-than-ideal trip last out when facing steeper and the Beyer Figure of 50 that he earned is the best career number in this spot. NAIROBI brings good racing experience to the table and the foundation could serve him well on the move to six furlongs. He also has more natural speed than some of these. SHAFIRO is a February foal launching his career for a stallion who is getting 19 percent juvenile debut winners. Barn also has strong stats with young horses.

TENTH RACE

SWEET MOOCHIE gets a shot with statebreds after holding her own against open company foes. She’s also something of a fresh horse as this marks her first race since June. PROSPECTIVELY defeated top choice two back and last out picked up a check in a straight 3-year-old stakes. The race was against open company and she’s back in a statebred spot now. LA DEFENDER put in a competitive effort last out in her first start against winners, and note she did not get a clear run in that race. She also has an age edge on top two as she is 3. PURE ONE is a half-sister to multiple Grade 3 winner Pure Sensation ($1.3M).

ELEVENTH RACE

CURLIN’S APPROVAL boasts an outstanding record at Gulfstream, where she has earned more than $580K while winning such races as the Grade 2 Princess Rooney and Grade 2 Royal Delta. She shortens up some in distance to six furlongs, and Alter has sharpened her skills for the move with a blowout Aug. 9. CURLIN’S APPROVAL might get a decent tracking trip. TOO MUCH TIP gives up recency to these as she has not started since October, but what she lacks there she makes up for in class as a Group 1 winner. She has been effective from both on and just off the pace and is a well-bred sort as a daughter of Too Much Bling - a perennial leading sire in the Southwest - and Quick Tip, a multiple Grade 3 winner of $685K. YES I’LL GO is a stakes winner who is cutting back to a distance over which she was a romping winner in April.

TWELFTH RACE

ROCKY STRANGE moved back to turf last out and fired a big race and for this trip he draws what might prove to be a little better post. HARD WORKER popped a career-high Beyer Speed Figure last out in what was his first ever start on the grass. TWO STEPS TO TOGA fits well with these.
