FIRST RACE

JOE CLOCKER was not a clocker tip when he was a slow-starting second at first asking for $12.5K July 22. The son of leading Ontario sire Silent Name is sent out by a successful second-out trainer. He could have these $16K maidens within his sights. JAIL TIME is halving in value to the price at which he nearly found the mark when going three-quarters in November. TRUTH SERUM finished up the course among three next-out winners in a grassy $25K seller on brutally hot day June 30.

SECOND RACE

MYSTERY MESSENGER is by the 19% 2yo debut sire Point of Entry, and the Stronach Stable homebred is the second foal from a stakesplaced sprinter. He’s been working fast for a live barn, which has fared well with newbies. IN GUS WE TRUST has worked quickly on occasion for a trainer who clicked with two impressive firsttimers at the meet. Classic winner Orb has gotten 9% 2yo debut winners. AVIE’S FLATTER breezed a bullet five-eighths the other day. The nicely-bred son of the popular Flatter is a half-brother to the stakes-placed router Avie’s Mineshaft.

THIRD RACE

VIEWFINDER had a troubled trip before closing for a nose loss when he went long on turf for the first time July 15. The son of Langfuhr has since worked quickly over the turf training course. LION’S SHARE has worked decently in preparation for his first try for trainer Roger Attfield, and the first-time gelding could be rejuvenated off the long layoff. GOLD STING rallied for a share in both of his local outings going short, and the son of red-hot commercial sire Medaglia d’Oro is bred to run on.

FOURTH RACE

CANMORE was a troubled/close third in his comeback, and was a belated fourth in another turf route most recently. The versatile son of Ghostzapper is changing surfaces to the Tapeta, and should be prominent in the third race of his form cycle. FIRE FOR EFFECT came from off fast frac- tions to finish a lapped-on second in an identical spot July 15. MONASTRELL rallied four-wide from off a lively pace to beat $40K maidens with a good Beyer in his latest. Use ZUCKER in the exotics.

FIFTH RACE

FOREST BROTHER beat three next-out winners when losing his last race for $20K to a sharp Ault, who subsequently ran second for $16K. He’s jumping up to this N1X turf sprint, but might be up to the task at hand off the McKnight claim, a potent angle. SALIERI crushed NW2 OS allowance/$40K stock in his second race off the bench on the Tapeta July 22. His turf form is solid, and he shouldn’t be out of his league with these. SPANISH EXPRESS earned a big/inflated 95 Beyer last time when second in a fast-paced optional starter. CHILL is another possibility.

SIXTH RACE

MELMICH finished second in each of his three outings at the meet, most recently in the G3 Dominion Day, from which Tiz a Slam exited to double up in the G2 Nijinsky on turf. The closer has been compromised by slow paces, and there’s more speed than usual for him to run at in this G3, which he won last year over ARE YOU KIDDING ME. The latter took the G2 Eclipse at this distance May 26, and then mounted a wide bid for third in the 10-furlong Dominion Day. The two-time Canadian
