BEST BET: RACE 6, GLOBAL HERO

FIRST RACE

Need a dart board to start the day if this one stays on the turf. Not a lot of pace signed on which might give SET ME UP the edge if aggressively handled from the outset on drop to this level. Might not look back. ZITMAN and DI MAESTRO drop a notch in price, as good as any of the others.

SECOND RACE

Two turns the question mark for most of these. K K’S REVOLVER in good form off the claim for white hot barn although that success has come on wet tracks. Ran well here a year ago, loses the blinkers after hanging late in last pair. ELASTICO has tailed off in each of his last pair but well posted inside, could be a bit of a sleeper if allowed to show his best speed stretching out off recent sprint try. OCTOPYTHIUS second best vs. same kind last time. Hard to ignore but must prove mettle like most here at a two turn mile.

THIRD RACE

DASH OF DAZZLE in potent hands off the claim and a relatively easy win vs. similar on crosstown finale. Hard to ignore even at the short price. MASTER RORY steps up off a pair of conditioned claiming tallies but with the speed to be dangerous on the hike to open company. JERSEY STREET has been on the fringes vs. similar on several occasions of late. Might grab minor share again.

FOURTH RACE

SNAKE EYED GIRL well spotted off promising debut to graduate in this spot. BLUE SKY VENEZUELA loses the blinkers after hanging last time on the turf. Back to the main, lures Zayas, expecting improvement here. INFINITY SKY debut in a relatively weak spot off series of five furlong drills. Fitness should not be the issue. Might prove good enough off the bench.

FIFTH RACE

GIVE TO U. K. CATS never better and likely loose as he pleases once again on the front end. Handled 11 furlongs very nicely earlier in his career. SONGEUR should have the breeding to stay the route being by Unbridled’s Song out of an Affirmed mare. KIKINBOY proved mettle at the distance this summer albeit in a race which did collapse badly to the even money winner. Not facing too much better here.

SIXTH RACE

GLOBAL HERO freshened a bit since solid effort on the drop to this level going a mile in crosstown finale, should catch enough pace to run down at his best. OUTRUN ran too good two back not to give a look for this tag although that race was an off the turf affair decided on a wet track. JACKS A WARRIOR beaten a neck vs. similar last time. Knocking on door here.

SEVENTH RACE

HOT AND HEAVY nipped by in form Grand Nenuco two back for higher tagged when haltered by present connections, wound up a bit overmatched when beaten as the tepid choice last time. Back where he belongs today. ESCAPE VELOCITY returns on relatively short rest but hard to fault in current form. BINGO KITTEN has run well each of his last two starts vs. open claiming opposition although as always stretch running veteran will need some help up front.

EIGHTH RACE

WONDER IN among several intriguing new faces in this spot. Showed promise in the a.m. this summer at the Spa and did bring six figures at the sales for high profile O/T connections. ZALZA has flashed

speed on occasion in the a.m. and with enough breeding to suggest he might come out running off the bench. The same holds for BURLY BOY who is kin to the multiple G1 placed Unrivaled Belle. Florida Two Step finished third in a race which has already produced four next out winners including one at the MSW level and a first time gelding since that outing.

NINTH RACE

PUT THE HAT BACK gets the call returning locally off a decent enough showing in Baaston. Necked vs. this same kind here on 7/14. PACO ENSACO obviously the class of the field but a big question on the drop and three month hiatus. Must avoid early conflict with stable mate COCO IS LOCO who has been on the fringes vs. $10K company several times across town of late.

TENTH RACE

PEGASALL might finally be ready go graduate making third start of current form cycle especially if able to use his speed to shake loose early after chasing wide in both starts off the layoff. SALARY CAP may finally get back on a dry main track after two sub par showings on both turf and slop. NATION U S A winless in 30 tries, looking to avoid an 0 for 31 start while exiting promising effort vs. same kind two weeks earlier at GP.
