How to play the Pick 5

Daily Racing Form National Digital Edition - - News - by Kenny Peck

Leg A LRL Race 9:

ONE MORE GREAT TIME is in for a tag for the first time since he broke his maiden in July of 2017; versatile enough to lead or rate. TACO SUPREAM and SONIC BOOM E JET were just a neck apart when they last met, on October 13th, and while the former just missed in his return the latter lost his best chance at the start (3).

Leg B GP Race 9:

Standing alone with GOOD THINGS TAKE TIME, who has a good sized edge in B eyers. She is winless since her first start in the U.S ., back in November of last year, but she has been in some tough spots and she hardly disgraced herself. She’ll be looking to make the last run but there’s enough pace in this field to set her up (1).

Leg C GG Race 3:

OUR EAGLE HAS LANDED is obviously a contender here at this reduced level. WYOMING CHIEF has high speed, and there’s not a lot of obvious early zip in this abbreviated sprint. HOT’ N NOTTY could be the one to fear in the lane. LEGAL TRIBE debuts against a seemingly average group. EXCLUSIVE CODE fits well based on his best Beyers (5).

Leg D GP Race 10:

Going deep in this statebred Maiden Special Weight sprint, which may be the most competitive race in the sequence. ART G IS BACK debuts for trainer Ronald Spatz, who has positive stats with firsters. SEISMIC JOLT was well bet in his two starts to date, both on the turf, and he didn’t run badly either time. FOLLOW HIS FOOT STEPS wasn’t far off HE’S SMOKIN HOT in their last meeting, and the latter may be the one to beat here. LOUDON’S SONG has tactical speed and adds blinkers, with a sharp recent work to his credit. WINNING DRIVE was no match for the winner in his odds-on debut but he did flash some speed there and he was well clear for the place (6).

Leg E GG Race 4:

UNION LEGEND has a solid chance to steal this, as he could be the main speed from his inside post. PREACHER’S BLUFF has some of the better Beyers in the field and is a contender on the strength of those figures (2).

THE PLAY: 1, 2, 5 / 9 / 1, 5, 6, 9, 10 / 1, 2, 3, 4, 7, 13 / 2, 7 = $180 Ticket
