BEST BET: RACE 10, AWESTRUCK

FIRST RACE

MY OWN MO broke a step slow, rushed up rail, got shuffled on far turn, held for third in a race easily won by First and Three who has since returned to beat $35K starter allowance competition. Working well for return try, Edgard stays, should offer some value against logical choice SHE LOVE ME. The latter caught slop and a touch better when far back as tepid choice in Ky. finale. Previous game try points him out one to beat in the opener. CYRUS comes off best yet albeit over wet track. Been freshened, gelded since the outing.

SECOND RACE

Tough call in this pretty pace less race. FAST FIRE returns to his favorite course after a couple of average efforts across town. Gets big rider switch from double bug to Zayas. Will offer some value in wide open spot. ERASMO’S DREAM finished mid-pack against much better in his crosstown finale, a race that has already produced pair of next out winners. In for a straight tag for first time in quite a while. Re-unites with Saez. Lots to like. PERFORMANCE BONUS comes back in one month after having all previous starts pretty well spaced, finished third vs. same kind here in March. Among major players for sure.

THIRD RACE

FLASHY DOLL switches to grass off a couple of big main track sprint wins to launch her career. Modest breeding for going although is a kin to a couple of inner winners. Looks like the quickest of all the speed in this lineup. SHOOBIEDOOBYDOO back to a surface she handled well two back in Maryland, may be coming best of all at the end. EYEINTHESKY set pace, faded late going a mile in G1 Natalma, a race that sent 3 members of the field to the Breeders’ Cup. In softer today while turning back to what figures to be a much more suitable distance.

FOURTH RACE

IT’S A NEW YEAR and HOUSE OF COMMONS both plunge below level they were claimed at during the fall and may vie for the top prize. Former may benefit shortening up to six furlongs while latter has the speed to be dangerous if able to leave cleaner than he did in his last. DUKE OF MIAMI in dangerous hands off the claim. Has knocked on the door with cheaper in last several tries. A bit of a sleeper with expected improvement.

FIFTH RACE

Other than the very short price, hard to knock AUDIBLE who comes off huge effort in Cherokee Run and back to what he does best going two turns. Works say ready for another big performance in preparation for next month’s Pegasus World Cup. VILLAGE KING looks like the chief threat to the odds on favorite exiting game performance in the off the turf Red Smith. APOSTLE a promising but still lightly raced 3yo who’ll get a class check here.

SIXTH RACE

ELISSAS SECRET gets full make over, blinkers and Lasix, looking to improve off a bit of a troubled trip while also racing greenly at first asking when away slow and failing to get off that left lead through stretch. Worth a look at the price at second asking. BESO comes up tag for third start of her form cycle. Showed speed vs. much better in her bow. Might not look back if able to shake loose with these. DANA GRACE chased loose on lead winner throughout, taking futile run at that rival on final turn yet still good
