SEVENTH RACE GULFSTREAM

-

enough to hold on for second money. Drops another notch. Hard to leave out of the equation. AWARD WINNER got hung wide, turned in decent debut run in a field that produced a pair of subsequent MSW winners during the recently concluded CD meet. Future may lie on grass considering his breeding being kin to both Oscar Nominated and Oscar Performance, but still the one to beat with a race under the belt. THETRASHMANSCOMING continues to improve although stretch running colt will need some help up front to be along over this track. RACK GIN one of several new faces in the lineup. Training forwardly but a one turn mile a tough obstacle to overcome for any first time starter.

EIGHTH RACE

TEQUILITA chased, could not get to loose on the lead Sower last time over a muddy Belmont strip, the latter returning to finish third in the Garland of Roses. Turned in career best effort from a Beyer standpoint going one turn mile this summer at Belmont in the G2 Ruffian. May finally be ready to get back on winning track today. TWEETING must improved off the three month freshening, also caught a good one last out in the Shine Again. Must avoid early conflict with Tapa Tapa Tapa. ELECTRIC FOREST lightly raced but obviously talented, her lone setback coming at CD last spring following an eventful start. Paired up Beyer tops last time in N Y, may be ready for best yet stretching to a mile making stakes bow today.

NINTH RACE

LA MONEDA had four race win streak snapped over less than firm course when outfinished by Fifty Five following wide trip. In form mare taken to get back to her winning ways under Johnny V. with a clean trip. BELLAVAIS returns to the scene of her first stakes win nearly two years ago while exiting arguably her best effort yet dropping into allowance ranks in N Y finale. Well drawn inside. Could prove chief threat for top connections. PAS DE SOUCIS one of many other logical contenders in wide open affair but must overcome tough post in overflow field.

TENTH RACE

AWESTRUCK, the day’s best, and DREAM PAULINE both encountered a ton of early trouble futilely chasing Vertical Oak home in the Dream Supreme Breeders’ Cup weekend at Churchill Downs, the latter flattering the race returning to post popular victory in the Garland of Roses. Hard knocking filly need only break clean, get reasonable early position to become a graded stakes winner in this spot. Dream Pauline and STORMY EMBRACE both late minute additions to field, the latter certainly proven over this track with her easy win in the G2 Princess Rooney earlier in the season. Dangerous if shaking loose from the outset off tough trip in the BC FM Sprint.

ELEVENTH RACE

This might be one of the best G2 field assembled in quite some time with five G1 winners in the lineup and five coming out of Breeders’ Cup races. ALMANAAR gets the call after not running his race over the soft going in the BC Mile. Arlington Million runner-up training brilliantly for his return to local course since winning the G1 G P Turf Hcp. nearly two years earlier. QURBAAN won the G2 Bernard Baruch in U S bow, did not get best of trips in Shadwell Mile and should love the stretch to nine furlongs here. PROJECTED a bit of a hanging sort all season long but never runs a poor one and hard to leave out of the equation at his best.
