BEST BET: RACE 4, MIJA BELLA

FIRST RACE

LEMNISCATE one of several in the opener coming off promising debut runs and likely to improve from those efforts. Exits big work here last weekend with FOY bound Signalman. LAST JUDGMENT broke a bit slow, rushed to contention, faded late when backed to a stick for his bow in a race that has already produced pair of next out grads. Probably the most logical one in this spot. BANYAN BREEZE has shown promise in the a.m., culminating long series of works with a sharp half-mile last weekend. Should run big off the bench.

SECOND RACE

NORTHERN has found a home for this tag, proved he could rate his speed a bit last time sitting three wide third before taking lead on turn, holding safe a strong try from Be a Hero who came back to trounce slightly softer with an 85 Beyer in his next start. DASH OF DAZZLE backed to even money against Northern four weeks earlier only to lose all chance at the break. Can make amends at his best. EXCLUSIVE ZIP obviously hard to fault in current form having won three straight by combined margin of nearly 14 lengths Goes from one hot barn to another off the claim.

THIRD RACE

ANGELIA rallied to take brief lead through stretch, proved no match for very talented Queen of Beas who came right back to easily defeat N1X allowance company last week. Just a matter of whether she can handle two turns. ALASAAYIL back to main track for just the second time and might prove bit of a sleeper off a couple of improved showings on grass. MALIBU RAINBOW logical off big try, this distance, in 2yo finale.

FOURTH RACE

MIJA BELLA, the day’s best, was hung wide throughout when second best behind 4-5 Rose M last time. Knocking on door with this kind for high percentage connections. SUNNY SONATA benefitted from a soft pace to win maiden returning from an extended vacation, taking on better stepping in with winners for first time but one to beat with expected improvement. SHE’S NO JOKE not badly beaten by preferred choice in their previous meeting, should be along for at least a share.

FIFTH RACE

SHE’LL DO shipped down from N Y off much needed outing with, perhaps, a shot at the turf in mind. Worked well over PBD sod on Jan. 19 in company with more accomplished mate, might even offer a little value in this pretty wide open spot. BLUE JEAN KITTEN another N Y invader who exits big effort over Aqueduct sod in her 2yo finale, withstanding long duel before ultimately succumbing to late running winner. Lures Saez, well drawn on rail. PIECE BY PEACE a firster sporting good breeding and excellent connections. Certainly hard to leave out of the equation.

SIXTH RACE

SPECIAL EVENT comes off an improved showing in the My Charmer, a race which produced pair of next out SW from among the also-rans. Should move forward from the outing, her first in 3 1/2

months. Could be value alternative to classy favorite RYMSKA if she goes as the multiple G3 winner also entered this afternoon at Tampa. Stretches back to more suitable distance, strictly one to beat. VALEDICTORIAN a pretty consistent sort who continues to hold form well and fond of the local strip.

SEVENTH RACE

Rainbow 6 kicks off with a tough one, a full field of bottom level maiden claimers sporting any number of likely contenders. VALID EXCHANGE has shown speed on both turf and dirt facing stronger, might get brave if able to finally shake loose on top with this group. DRILL DOWN DUDE has held his own in the morning with better, could be worth a look at first asking. OH DANNY BEAR was hung four wide around the turn chasing 1/5 Firm going a mile in local bow. Returns with swift half-mile drill and a new gelding since that outing. Lots to like today.

EIGHTH RACE

REAGAN’S ODYSSEY knocking on the door with this kind in all recent starts, was second best behind Chad Brown’s 6/5 Supercommittee last time. Should knock one out of the park today. HERA was rank early, got hung wide finishing behind preferred choice in their previous encounter but at her best and with a trip eligible to reverse that decision in today’s rematch. DYNATOWN stretches out off sharp sprint outing, must overcome outside post.

NINTH RACE

CAN’T BUY ME LOVE ran huge in defeat in her debut, overcoming slow start, very wide trip to hit the lead at mid-stretch before being run down late by Chad Brown firster. Just a matter of whether she can repeat the effort for new pilot wheeling back in four weeks. AMANDREA continues to improve. Slipped up the rail, could not match strides with preferred choice down the lane but dangerous off another forward move in the rematch. SHADOW PLAY and Clause a couple of intriguing looking new faces adding further intrigue to the puzzle. Former by excellent turf sire Galileo and a half to G1 winner(BC Juvenile) Hootenanny.

TENTH RACE

STANDARD DEVIATION returns off series of decent looking works. Ran big race behind Knicks Go and Signalman in Breeders’ Futurity despite being hung wide from impossible post. Sheds blinkers. Should get plenty of pace to run at considering make up of this lineup. GLOBAL CAMPAIGN ran huge in his debut, coasting home an easy winner over well meant Brown firster. Did miss some training prepping for this but recent work was strong and he should handle the added ground. OUTSHINE idle since disappointing in the Tremont, a super key race from which four of the five horses who returned won their next starts, 3 of those in stakes. Work tab says ready for return, the most recent a sharp bullet with blinkers on.

ELEVENTH RACE

Putting line through SIEM RIEP’s last over yielding ground in Maryland. Been freshened, ran well over the course a year ago, has credentials to spring the mild upset with Saez up. MR CUB the logical choice after extending Pegasus World Cup Turf winner Bricks and Mortar before settling for 2nd money in 2018 finale. SIDING SPRING now 3 for 4 over local strip after coming back to register impressive N2X allowance tally last month while showing a new dimension rating, rallying from off pace. One of many logical contenders in co-feature.

TWELFTH RACE

Thinking more than a few Rainbow 6 players may take a stand and single Chad Brown firster CAFE AMERICANO in the finale. Well bred sort by MEdaglia d’Oro out of a mare who earned nearly $1 million during her career. Hasn’t missed a beat in the a.m. with several promising looking works over PM inner for this. SILVER KITTEN logical off much improved showing with blinkers and on firm ground in 2yo finale but must overcome tricky post at relatively short price. MODERN MUSE sharp in the a.m. on the main with addition of blinkers and did catch a pretty good bunch including Queen of Beas in only previous start. Could steal this one at big balloons if taking to the going.
