FIFTH RACE

-

TIZK TIZK could well be the main speed in this sprint, and in a race that’s lacking in pace that’s no small consideration; behind only the always-game Tiger Blood in that last one, and that rival returned to run a solid 2nd in his return. GO HIPPO GO was off the board going long in his last try on the main track but he did move prematurely there, and he weakened only late; worth strong consideration for exotics if close to his 30-1 Morning Line price. LORD BARNA is widest but he adds blinkers and figures to show a little more speed with the equipment added; chased a loose leader and winner in METALLIC in that last one, but a contested pace could be on tap today.

SIXTH RACE

LEMON PRINCESS rallied with interest after racing well off the early pace in her latest, a solid effort considering she was behind some slow fractions there; also closed nicely in her first start of the meet three back. TOUR D’ARGENT makes her third start off the layoff and could be set for her best yet, as she fits the class “bounce” pattern (careerbest try off the layoff followed by regression); lone win came on the grass. MIKO makes her first start off the claim for a barn with recent success in that area; up in class but she seems to fit the expected race flow, as there is speed to her inside to set her up.

SEVENTH RACE

DISCREET RANSOM is kin to three winners and the dam herself was stakes-placed; sports Lasix for his career debut and he does have a couple of breezes which hint at some ability. HE IZ GONE is widest, and he’s up in class for this, but he has license to improve today with blinkers and Lasix added; new barn has had recent success with the addition of blinkers. BLAME THE MAKERS is obviously a threat today after running 2nd at this level in his first start off the short rest; clearly dangerous with a similar effort.

EIGHTH RACE

HEART TO HEART broke in the air and then was bounced around at the start in the Tropical Turf last time, and that really cost him his best chance since speed is a big part of his game; lands in a Tampa Bay Stakes that’s light on pace and he will be tough to reel in — if he’s able to get away cleanly this time around. QURBAAN is the one to fear in the lane; ran solid races in all three of his starts in the U. S. and the Beyers he’s posted make him easy to like in this spot. INSPECTOR LYNLEY had some traffic trouble in the Fort Luaderdale last time, and he stands to improve today with a clean trip; eligible to make the last run with clear sailing.

NINTH RACE

WINNING ENVELOPE has tactical speed and an inside post, which should enable her to work out a good trip here regardless of how the pace scenario develops; away since September but she has been training very well toward this return. SWEET DIANE just missed in her stakes debut, at Gulfstream, and that running line clearly makes her dangerous in her local debut; widest of the nine entered in this Suncoast but she has enough tactical speed to get position despite the outside post. TAPIT’S PRINCESS was an easy winner when able to shake loose and control the pace against maidens in her latest, and she could be the main speed in this one as well; whether she’s good enough is the question, but she could well back down the fractions to the point where she has a shot to steal it.

TENTH RACE

RYMSKA makes her seasonal debut in a seemingly good spot, as she seems to be the class of this field and she has the best Beyers in the field; she’ll be looking to make the last run in this Endeavour but there are a couple of confirmed speeds to her inside to help set her up. GET EXPLICIT is another closer who figures to be well set up; unraced since November but 1st or 2nd in each of her last four,

ELEVENTH RACE

KNICKS GO seems to run his best races when he’s a huge price but he is coming up to this Sam F. Davis in very good form, and he’s the one they’ll have to beat as the likely favorite; biggest score came when loose on the lead in the Breeders Futurity at 70-1 but he returned to run a strong 2nd in the BC Juvenile when he rated effectively and held nicely late. KENTUCKY WILDCAT has improved with each start in terms of Beyers and he could be in line to pick up a lot of big pieces in the lane if the pace is quick and contested. COUNTER OFFER couldn’t catch up with SO ALIVE in that last one but he closed nicely there despite running against the race flow; up in class for this but he has room to take a big step forward given a clean trip and a pressured pace up front.

TWELFTH RACE

ROCK SOLID GOLFER only blew the place in the final strides at 27-1 in his latest, another deceptively good try in defeat; he is quick from the gate but he can also rate and make one run, and that should mean he’s well positioned from the start. AT THE READY will be looking to close in the lane, as he did in his latest, when he rallied for the place; in a race that came up on the quick side; solid late kick in his grass tries. ADIOS NARDO won two straight off the long layoff, both at this level, and he’s clearly capable of winning another if he runs back to that last figure.
