BEST BET: RACE 5, ORRA MOOR

FIRST RACE

APART FROM THE CROWD adds blinkers, returns to level he was claimed and last won at after getting hung wide in two most recent starts. Tepid nod to start the day. ON CRUISE CONTROL a non-winning sort but has shown flashes on occasions and switches to new pilot today. Could prove a sleeper. FAMILY KITTEN makes third start for new connections, figures forwardly placed throughout.

SECOND RACE

BALLY SQUALL drops to bottom, turns back in distance, exits decent half-mile breeze, lots to like vs. this group. LADY KIM showed some late run iin local bow, another coming off improved a.m. trial. Expect big improvement with the class relief. MAMA LELA might have the best early foot in a field devoid of speed.

THIRD RACE

LOVE TREE acted up in post parades, carried those antics over to the break, losing rider at the start first off claim for new connections. Now drops back to the bottom, a level at which he beat likes of Browns Gap and one of todays chief rivals, W W Concerto, at GPW. Should get an honest pace to run at today.DREAMY MARTINI another late threat exiting a couple of improved Beyer efforts. Could be coming best at end. W W CONCERTO faltered late after getting loose on lead vs. same kind here last month, in dangerous hands off the claim.

FOURTH RACE

LUCKYTOBEINAMERICA showed enough 2 back to merit close attention dropping to cheapest level yet while turning back in distance today. Taken to stalk early pace of Followhisfootsteps.QUEEN’S BIRD takes big plunge in price off the claim after chasing very fast pace trying a mile in local bow. Expect better with these. GUERRERON continues to knock on the door with slightly softer. Chased home pair of next out, runaway winners in last couple of tries. warrior Spirit posted bullet from Calder gate, must respect in his bow.

FIFTH RACE

ORRA MOOR, the day’s best, ran to her backing at first asking and continues to post bullets in the a.m. Well posted outside. Can take another. BREAK CURFEW faded late after unlucky start catching slop, trying 2 turns in 2yo bow. Should appreciate turn back to 6F. BRUCIA LA TERRA freshened since dull and very disappointing effort in the Tempted. Will need some help up front.

SIXTH RACE

UNDERESTIMATE continues to improve and with some license to handle the turf being kin to multiple grass winner Itsmyluckycharm. FERDINANDA the logical choice but a hanging sort who has lost ground from eighth pole to wire in most recent starts. MISS MUNNINGS comes off arguably her best yet, one of only 2 multiple winners in the field along with Ferdinanda.

SEVENTH RACE

RY’S THE GUY second best while turning in credible bow behind well meant High Crime. Should appreciate the added distance and well posted at this route. GOING FOR GOLD looked good in the a.m. with addition of blinkers, will have to use his

early foot to overcome outside post. The same goes for GROWTH ENGINE who was second best behind talented, even money Global Campaign in his debut but another who must work out a trip around that first turn from this post.

EIGHTH RACE

ROYALTY SALVATORE a new gelding for 2019 debut while getting some much needed class relief as well. Lack of reported works would normally be an issue but this one never seems to work much between starts. TOWNIE returns to dirt for first time since big try at 31-1 earlier in career at the Big A. Could stand some catching. BLACK PEPPER obviously a giant question marker showing up for $6,250 not long removed from a MSW win here last fall. Just taking stand against at the short price.

NINTH RACE

READYFORPRIMETIME one of many interesting first time starters in this wide open mix. Turned in sharp gate move locally on 1/12 before going back to the farm to continue preparations for bow. By More Than Ready and kin to proven turf runner Bantu. VALID POINT by Scat Daddy and with a steady series of works prepping for his debut including good showing with older, proven Ticonderoga at PM. BAR HARBOR a half to a multiple turf SW and out of a mare who won 6 of 9 on sod including a Grade 3. Note recent near bullet drill over Payson sod.

TENTH RACE

ELECTRO turned in a better effort than it might look on paper here last month when off slowest, hung wide throughout, got to lead turning for home before tiring from the effort. Expecting big improvement at square price if able to leave with the field. JUPITER RISING chased pace, hung late in a race won by deep closer and from which runner-up returned to win at next asking. JO’S BOLD CAT a non-winning sort of late but drops another notch, switches riders, could offer some value, come running late with a little help up front.

ELEVENTH RACE

OUTSHINE scratched from Saturday’s one mile and one sixteenth N2L to start campaign at 7F, a distance that should prove well within his scope off the bench. Worked extremely well with addition of blinkers last week at PBD. Exits super key race which produced 3 next out stakes winners. JUNGLE WARRIOR showed speed, faded late trying graded stakes company in 2yo finale. Shortens up, drops to more suitable spot, might be coming best of all at the end. COMBINATION dueled from tough position between horses, weakened late regressing a tad in the Limehouse but continues to train like a good one and getting Irad for the occasions.

TWELFTH RACE

FLYIN’ ROBIN looked sharp in recent 5/8’s work with multiple winning mate and eligible to improve off much needed bow at 5 furlongs. Worth a flyer at the price in wide open finale. OSO NEGRO bred for grass on all sides and with typical Chad Brown training pattern of works on his resume’. Like preferred choice, must work out a trip from outside gate. BETTERMENT hung late going two turns at first asking, should move forward from the effort.
