FIRST RACE

RUBELLITE ran well when jumping up to $40K conditioned claimers off her maiden win now returns to more suitable spot while continuing to improve since stretching back out around two turns. Lures Ortiz. Should not look back with these. MOHANIE also getting significant class relief after holding own against tough starter allowance company despite a slow start in turf bow. WINDJAMMER continues to knock on door at this level but a hanging sort who has been beaten as post time favorite in each of her last two tries vs. similar.

SECOND RACE

FIRST GOAL, the day’s best, drops back against condition bottom level claimers after holding own with open company in last several tries, actually crossing wire first at that level before being DQ’d on 10/26. Too fast for these if away cleanly to the lead as expected. PACHANGA PARTY second best with this same kind two weeks earlier when no match for improved and runaway winner Be a Hero. FRANCESCO APPEAL his own worst enemy out of the gate in all recent outings but dangerous with this kind if not relinquishing too much ground at the break.

THIRD RACE

CORDELE beat this same kind to wire only to be DQ’d from the victory while showing improvement returning locally. Switches pilots, need only repeat the try to be along once again. LADY’S ISLAND has had limited experience on turf but proved she could handle the surface two back in Claiming Crown and in peak form at the present time. Re-unites with Tyler. Major player here. DELICIOUS PURSUIT got elevated to first via Cordele’s DQ when pair met on 12/30 and obviously a major player at this level once again.

FOURTH RACE

J BOYS ECHO drops to cheapest level yet after perhaps not handling the wet surface last time. Should not fall back quite as far early on with this softer group. Should assert class edge with the right trip. PRINCE TITO dropped too far back, had too much to do when putting blinkers back on last time, still turned in credible and improved showing as 44-1 outside. Gets significant rider switch, could be a bit of a sleeper once again. ELLAS MY LOVE in new hands off the claim, worked a bullet for this. Expecting major improvement today.

FIFTH RACE

ERIC THE SALESMAN turned in solid try returning to turf from tough outside post just 3 weeks earlier, has been gelded since the effort and getting a much more experienced pilot for today’s assignment. Will stand some catching. MR. NOBODY another who ran well from impossible post, making big middle run off very rapid pace before faltering late from effort. Draws better starting position looking to move forward off that effort. RAGE AWAY posted career best Beyer last time for barn that has heated up of late. Will come running at the end.

SIXTH RACE

ARTICULATOR no match for top pair after setting very fast pace against what might be a notch better than he faces on turn back to 6 furlongs here. AEQUOR makes third start of current form cycle with Jose O on the job. Ready for best yet for this barn. BOLD ENVOY turn to dirt and another who figures to improve off what might have been a much needed outing last time.

SEVENTH RACE

PEACOCK KITTEN lightly raced but obviously talented after running older stakes placed former

mate Bern James Bern to a close decision under similar conditions in 3yo finale. GOLDEN SPEAR ran well first time for Navarro barn despite some brief trouble near furlong marker while beaten just a length by 6/5 Illudere last out. Similar effort has him right in thick of this one at the end once again. ALL GO well drawn inside, tossing last try over yielding ground vs. G3 foes in the McKnight. Figures forwardly placed throughout.

EIGHTH RACE

JAIS’S SOLITUDE the best stretch threat in a race which features lots of pace. Ran well before just falling short off slow pace behind loose on lead winner in Tampa. Kin to G2 turf winner Ancient Secret. KING OTTOKAR won maiden in impressive fashion and has since had effort flattered with all three of the horses who has since run back out of that race winning their next starts while Beyering from 72-78 in process. SAMBACER impressive winning his bow here last month, might be controlling speed again from the rail.

NINTH RACE

X Y JET run into the ground in suicidal pace duel returning off another long vacation but doesn’t appear to have any such challengers for the lead in this lineup. Should right the ship in main event.

REASON TO SOAR uncharacteristically dull finishing behind X Y Jet with no apparent excuse last time but loves this strip and getting a mulligan if able to run back to best form today. NOBLE INDY a question mark off the long layoff but works say he’s ready for big try off bench.

TENTH RACE

CLEAR FOR ACTION gets major class relief going from series of MSW tries to bottom of claiming ladder following decent enough turf bow on 12/23. Works good enough to suggest he should earn diploma with this bunch. COAL TRUTH gets blinkers and a shot at the turf for the first time, may try to steal one wire to wire from the rail. TROPICAL COGNAC also dons shades for first time while exiting far and away a career best effort from Beyer standpoint. Drops, hard to ignore.
