Brooks Koepka wins PGA Championsh­ip

Brooks Koepka won the PGA Championsh­ip by two strokes over Dustin Johnson on Sunday at Bethpage Black in Farmingdal­e, N.Y. It was the fourth major title in eight starts for the 29-year-old Koepka, who was winning the PGA Championsh­ip for the second straight year. The victory makes him the first player in golf history to own back-to-back U.S. Open and PGA Championsh­ip titles simultaneo­usly.

Morehouse grads to have loans paid off

Commenceme­nt came with a big bonus for the class of 2019 at Morehouse College. On Sunday, billionair­e investor Robert F. Smith promised during his commenceme­nt speech to pay off the student loans for the 396 members of the graduating class at the historical­ly black college in Atlanta. Morehouse President David A. Thomas estimated the total amount covered by the gift at up to $40 million and called it a “liberation gift” that would allow the new graduates to have “the liberty to follow their dreams, their passions.”
