BEST BET: RACE 6, GERRYS BIG WIN

FIRST RACE

SHERIFF CALLIE cuts back to one turn after showing speed around two and that can be a winning move with a horse. ASTRAL FAVOR should be sharp for the five-eighths of a mile start off the four and a half furlong tilt at SunRay Park. She also returns to turf, site of her maiden win. I SEE YOUDEAUX tried turf for the first time last out and was a sharp, wire-to-wire winner at this distance.

SECOND RACE

CAT’S SHINING STAR moves back to dirt and the last time he ran on the main track he was just edged. BAD BOY JOHNNY meets more experienced rivals after clearing his N2L condition last time, but he does own the field’s best last-race Beyer Speed Figure. Adding to his appeal is the fact that he’s won two of his last three starts - both wins at this distance at Louisiana Downs. KING FORMEREDITH should be sharp for the move back to two turns off the sprint start. He caught a wet track last time and might be better served with a fast strip as both of his wins have come over such a surface rating.

THIRD RACE

BLUSHING KITTEN ran a credible fourth last out in a quick race at Lone Star Park and would seem to have reason to move forward here, in what marks her second out since March. Also like that BLUSHING KITTEN has seen steeper in the past. TELESCOPIC PLAN made her first start in about two months last out and was a big second over the local lawn, beaten a neck after closing from next-to-last. She picks up a bit more real estate in this spot and is a logical choice back for the high percentage team of Broberg and Eramia. EASTER INDY makes a rare start at two turns here and also will be making her turf debut. Her sire shows no turf winners from a very limited number of turf starters, while her dam has produced a runner who was placed on turf. This one is back in the straight claiming ranks after facing steeper last out in a quick optional claimer at Prairie Meadows.

FOURTH RACE

GAVINS LITTLE SIS is a consistent performer moving back to the main track and note both of her wins to date have come on dirt. ATTITUDE AJUSTMENT draws the widest post, but is stretching out to two turns following a series of sprint starts and as such could be somewhat prominent. That was the case the last time she made the move from one-turn to two, for a maiden race over six and a half furlongs at Delta Downs. As for the added ground, this one gets pedigree support as the daughter of a past winner of the Super Derby. LIL KYLIE has an age edge on top two as she is 4. She’s also in sharp form right now.

FIFTH RACE

PUDDIN’S THE MAN has earned some competitive Beyer Figures over the John Franks course this meet at Louisiana Downs and also gets in lighter than these under apprentice Roberts. BLU BLAZE exits same race as top choice, finishing right behind that one while beaten just two lengths for everything. ENTICING SHAQ showed speed on the stretchout from five-eighths to a mile last time and he is one who can be closer to the pace than top two in what might give him a tactical advantage.

SIXTH RACE

GERRYS BIG WIN might be tough to contain were she to run back to the Beyer Figure of 77 that she earned last out at Gulfstream Park. The next-best last-race number in this field Wednesday is a 49. GERRYS BIG WIN is further appealing for her tactical speed and could be sitting on a peak race here, in her third out since December. ETTALUSIVE has an age edge on top choice and could get a nice trip stalking a few of these. DA DUE RUN RUN owns the aforementioned Beyer of 49, for a runner-up finish at a distance similar to this six and a half furlong trip. She leaves the statebred ranks behind, but fared well against open foes back in February.

SEVENTH RACE

THEBOYZDELIGHT was second to a quality winner last out in State Treasurer, who struck again after their meeting and who was stakes-placed over the weekend in the Louisiana Cup Sprint at Louisiana Downs. As for THEBOYZDELIGHT, he’s back on turf here and he ran his race when last seen on the Franks course this meet at LaD. MIRACLE MASTER makes the move to turf for the first time for a stallion who is getting 8 percent winners from his first-time turfers and 11 percent winners overall on the grass. This one’s dam has had one turf starter and that runner is placed on the grass. MIRACLE MASTER is in the midst of a strong meet, winning three of his four local starts in 2019. JACKTASTIC invades from Kentucky, where he regularly picked up checks this spring and summer. This marks a rare start on turf and he gets pedigree support for the surface courtesy the wonderful Cozzene.
