BEST BET: RACE 6, OPTIMYSTICAL

FIRST RACE

ADABEL made a three-wide bid to the lead in the stretch before hanging late in her improved second race off the bench. She could put it all together here with the addition of blinkers. CLAIRESSENCE lost a place photo to the top pick when boosted up to this level July 17, after getting her number taken down from first a month earlier. SOUPER PECAN could wake up as she gets some class relief off a layoff.

SECOND RACE

BAYOU BELLE is bred to be a miler on turf, but the daughter of freshman sire Silver Max has worked quickly since late June, and could win right off the hop. DAD’S MISSY is adding blinkers after blowing the break in her disappointing debut vs. open maiden special opposition. VICTORIAN MOON worked fast from the gate in each of her last two drills.

THIRD RACE

TRINITY THUNDAH saved ground on the turn before closing in the four-path for second over an inside-biased track to end up third vs. OS/$40K maidens in his latest. VICTORY GIVEN raced wide all the way against the bias when sixth in her local bow in the aforementioned event. She’s adding blinkers and retaining the bug Kimura. BADDEST BLUES has worked decently.

FOURTH RACE

CAPTAIN HANDSOME finished on the fringes in all four of his outings at the meet. The closer is being reunited with Ryan, who broke his maiden, and could make some noise at a square price if he gets some pace to chase. TOWN CRUISE came up empty as the chalk most recently July 14, and doesn’t have an interim work. His first two races were good, however, and he could rebound with blinkers on. LEGAL GUMP is a must-use underneath in the exotics. Throw out his last subpar showing in the second leg of the Woodbine Turf Sprint Series.

FIFTH RACE

FANTASTIC BREEZE just missed after closing wide from off slow fractions, over a course that aided front-runners and stalkers, in his encouraging opener. The stretchout from six to seven furlongs should suit the son of Stormy Atlantic to a T. SCOCCIATORE was bumped at the break before altering course in the lane to end up fourth when switching to the grass in his latest. ZOOLOGICAL came inside from fourth to finish third behind FANTASTIC BREEZE July 21. Use him underneath in the exotics, along with ICE BLUE, who missed the break badly in his debut.

SIXTH RACE

OPTIMYSTICAL got wiped out at the break before rallying wide from off sleepy fractions for second on a course that favored speed at first asking on the main turf. A clean break in this shorter inner turf dash should enable him to find the mark. Firsttimer FLO’S SYD has worked nicely on the Tapeta, and is bred for the grass. Professional maiden WHITE WEDDING has been a bridesmaid on more than one occasion.

SEVENTH RACE

WILLY’S CASTLE got away slowly before making up some ground to finish fifth in a recent optional starter on the grass. He was competitive for $20K

on the Tapeta in the spring, and is dropping to a winning spot in this $10K seller on the main track. CHRIS’ BREW rallied for a share in both of his starts at this class and distance at the meet. Wilson replaces Da Silva, who has landed on the top pick. BEAR AT LAST closed four-wide from off a lively pace to beat similar under Hernandez June 21.

EIGHTH RACE

ORAZIO is dropping from open maiden special company to a logical spot, while changing surfaces from turf to the Tapeta. His outside draw could lead to a beneficial stalking trip under regular rider Moran. LAKESIDE PARK showed little as the favorite when debuting in a similar race, but could turn things around with blinkers on. PROFESSOR TALLY has worked decently, but is bred to go farther than three-quarters. ODDS GET EVEN is a wild card in his first Tapeta race.

NINTH RACE

MR RITZ shook loose up front and then gave way grudgingly in the drive to lose a heartbreaker two back in the G2 Eclipse on the Tapeta. His speed wasn’t as effective most recently on turf in the G2 King Edward, but he could wire this group at a square price. MR HAVERCAMP won his season opener over a top-notch field in the G3 Forbidden Apple on the Saratoga sod. The dual Canadian champion is equally adept on either local surface, and will take some beating if he fires one of his better shots. SPECIAL FORCES was out-finished for the win in the G3 Dominion Day by the durable veteran ARE YOU KIDDING ME, who’s wearing bar shoes.

TENTH RACE

HE’S BANKABLE stalked a rapid pace en route to finishing second last time in his local debut and first synthetic track excursion. His turf form is spotty, but he could fire big on it here while in peak form. AMERICAN GURU needed his comeback in the open allowance prep for the G2 Play the King. He’s moving out to the distance of his last victory, in a second-level optional claimer at Belmont last summer. BLACK SEA beat easier $40K claimers most recently in his first trip around the new inner course.

ELEVENTH RACE

CANMORE put away another front-runner and kept on going for an overdue four-length score last time vs. OS/NW3 rivals on the inner turf. With that confidence-builder under his girth, he could strike again in this N1X on the main turf. VIEWFINDER lacked room on the far turn before landing on the edges in a 10-furlong nd N1X two weeks ago. A mile or 1 1/16 miles on the main course is probably his preferred trip. FIRST SPRING is a wild card following a layoff. COLEYVILLE is a must-use underneath in the exotics.
