SELECTIONS

Elizabeth Stakes. LEA RO landed on the edges behind the top pick after making a bid and then fading in her latest.

EIGHTH RACE

ARTIE’S PRINCESS was an embarrassingly easy winner over NW2 OS/$40K rivals Oct. 9, extending her unbeaten record to two races in the process. The towering bay has since worked well at Keeneland, and could beat the boys in the OS stakes. FORESTER’S TURN won both of his outings despite running greenly, including a recent NW2 tilt with a 76 Beyer. He shouldn’t mind stretching out from six to seven furlongs. OWLETTE, like her stablemate, ARTIE’S PRINCESS, is unbeaten on the local Tapeta, which included two stakes scores. Trainer Wesley Ward might opt to scratch one of them in favor of next Saturday’s 1 1/16-mile South Ocean Stakes for OS fillies.

NINTH RACE

BEAR PAW is exiting a wide third in the restricted Classy ‘N Smart Stakes behind She’s the Berries, who returned to just miss in the G3 Maple Leaf. She was previously second to Classy ‘N Smart runner-up Red Cabernet in the Algoma Stakes. OCEANS OF LOVE beat two next-out winners when wiring N1X opposition the last time she saw action Aug. 10. Her stablemate, MOONLIGHT RAIN, rallied for second last time in her first try at this secondlevel optional-claiming class.

TENTH RACE

COOLWATER rode an inside bias last time when a non-threatening eighth with a $40K tag. She was previously a front-running second at this $7.5K level. D’S SOUL is shedding the blinkers off a lackluster performance against tougher. She’s back at the class at which she finished a close third Sept. 25. FOREST LASS is dropping to where she could get back on the competitive track. Use her on the bottom of vertical bets, along with CASSIE’S RAINBOW.

ELEVENTH RACE

COUNTRYSIDE DRIVE earned a career high 66 Beyer last time when second to a runaway winner in a quick event, which was the first time that Salles rode him. JUST KITTEN YOU brings solid form to this contest, but his outside draw is a negative. DENMARK has also been saddled with a wide post, but is dropping to where he could have a say in the outcome. KEEP GOING is experimenting over a route of ground with blinkers off.
