BEST BET: RACE 4, I’M PRAYINGFORTHAT

FIRST RACE

PLAN OF ATTACK among any number of potential win candidates in opener. Poorly posted but ran credibly in each of his last pair including most recent outing when suffering through an eventful trip. Drawn down inside today. VIKING PLUNDER bred to handle the turf by Creative Cause out of an English Channel mare who won four times on grass. Last work, on sod, best of recent series. SULTANNES CROWN has the speed to shake loose, get brave if properly handled from the outset. First In Line ran well when dropped to this level last time with addition of blinkers, likely ready for best yet in third start of his form cycle.

SECOND RACE

LADY ARCHA a popular item at claim box and for good reason with four victories in nine starts on her resume. Beat many of these despite circling six wide turning for home, running clear readily two back. HARTLING also a four time winner returning to more suitable spot after taking up a couple of times in most recent outing vs. $50K foes. One to fear. AMELIA MADELYN stretches to what may prove her most effective distance second off the claim for present connections.

THIRD RACE

GRAN MICHELLE one of a pair of new faces in this lineup along with Gran Etiqueta and seemingly the better of the Barboza duo. Wouldn’t have to be much to win at first asking here. PANAREA continues to drop seeking winning spot. Ran well last time in key race that has already yielded a pair of next out grads from among the also-rans. KOZY DREAMS a beaten favorite in each of last pair with same kind but big effort two back behind Hough trained 9/5 firster points her out a major player.

FOURTH RACE

I’M PRAYINGFORTHAT, the day’s best, drops to weakest level yet seeking diploma in fifth start, need only repeat the effort behind wire to wire, 8’5 winner Swirling Candy on 2/6 to lead these a merry chase. BORROWED ANGEL could prove a sleeper dropping and getting full makeover, blinkers and Lasix, for second career start. Add Saez to mix and this one looks like a live longshot with a race under her belt. Kin to G1 placed turfer Gitchee Goomie. WILD ABOUT THIS ran well despite some early trouble turning back to five furlongs for first time on the grass.

FIFTH RACE

TIGER BLOOD a win machine at five furlongs on turf, having won three in a row and four of last five at that distance. Facing tougher on jump to this level but still sharp enough to continue winning ways with the right trip. FRENCHMEN STREET another in top form at the present time, was second best stepping back in with this same company last time. Might not look back. WHAT’S INSIDE ran preferred choice to a length decision in their most recent encounter. Hard to leave out of the equation.

SIXTH RACE

THE GOSPEL OF JOHN shows up for straight tag for first time off series of dullish efforts but with a new set of blinkers and a couple of decent works under her belt since latest try. Might have found the right niche today to get back on winning track for first time since graduation day. SIMPLE STORY improved a dozen points Beyer-wise to earn diploma at second asking, taken to step forward one more time with further experience. EAST COAST SWING and Golden Garter both question marks trying the main track in this spot. Former may have the early lick to shake loose, control this one a long ways on front end with blinkers added to equation.

SEVENTH RACE

KRAMMY BOY has held his form extremely well save for aberration due to early trouble at a mile

two back and might just handle the jump to this level in his current form. COMBINATION another in peak form but stepping up from $8K to $12,500 today. PHANTOM RO the class of the field taking sharp plunge in price off the 3/18 claim. Look for this one to be on or with pace throughout.

EIGHTH RACE

SKYE SNOW continues to improve, might just be good enough to take another in current form. SECRET STASH another exiting career best from a Beyer standpoint while exiting four plus months on sidelines and another forward move would likely jump him right into the winners circle here. NOPE a question mark in U S debut. Gets Lasix, exiting some decent works turf and dirt at PM. Kin to Group 2 winner across the Pond.

NINTH RACE

WHISPERING BEAUTY tries main track for the first time while getting a set of blinkers for the occasion. Looks talented enough to handle this level if handling the surface change. SLAM DUNK could be just that if ready for best off the bench in 3-yearold debut. Expect to see her on or with leaders from outset breaking from the fence. GRACEFUL PRINCESS victimized by a couple of rough trips to close out 3yo campaign, returns in new hands off series of decent works at PBD. Could get wake up call today.

TENTH RACE

ANNUALIZED plunges to bottom for barn in a bit of a funk the last couple of weeks. Outside draw no bargain but blew out well for the race, should have enough speed to get winning position in short run to opening bend. NOTHIN BUT NET a new gelding since being haltered by present connections back in late February off another solid try for lower tag. Logical with repeat of last pair. CANDY COMA bet hard at first asking, got nailed late now drops again off the big effort. Perhaps vulnerable again at another short price. Must respect connections with Kobe Fifty Two although work tab and bloodlines modest for the surface. Would tab board for further clues.
