BEST BET: RACE 6, ANNIE’S SHENANIGAN

FIRST RACE

DRESS SHOPPING is stuck on the rail going 6 1/2 panels and has lost the last two times that she returned off a layoff. Oh, Diodoro is only 8% off a long layoff. One of the reasons this barn wins at such a high percentage is moves like this. The big class drop. Arrieta up is a great sign. This filly should be too good for these. Still, we would keep the rent monies in our back pocket. FLAN has some speed and draws best. Main pace foe is the 4. Her most recent is better than it looks and she now goes second time with new barn. VEGAN GOES BEST has some speed and just won gate to wire on this dirt. She adds a half furlong and that might help front end chances. She is 1 for 1 at this distance. How much will the 6 press her? That is the million dollar question. DYNAMITE DAUGHTERS exits a key race where 3 of 5 returned to win with figs of 55, 67, and 62.

SECOND RACE

CLEAR THE MINE likes to win in general (10) but he has hit the board in 24 of 46 starts. We call these horses hard trying. His form before Turf Paradise closed due to Covid was as good as it gets. He has a couple of local works and should pick up where he left off. Connections find a good spot. Race flow is good with two speeds in here. TAPSOLUTE has lots and lots of works. His last race at OP came back key when 2 of 8 returned to win with Beyer speed figures of 91 and 70. This gelding does like this dirt even if he has only tried it twice (2-0-1-1). ROCKNROLL ROCKET just ran nicely off the layoff and now finds himself in a new barn that is 14% off the claim. We wouldn’t be shocked if this guy showed speed on the stretch-out. The 6 is his main pace foe, right?

THIRD RACE

FABLES LOVE AFFAIR is working well and figures a good trip sitting off the speeds. We like that Arrieta gets a leg up as he is 29% with this barn overall. This filly even has some upside. Connections find a logical spot. PEARLE DE VEENE might be the best outside speed. Her best effort to date came in her debut and maybe that bodes well for today. Other speed is a worry. DIAMOND DIVA was sent off at 55-1 in her return try at Lone Star. She needed that race. Best effort to date came three back when breaking her maiden from the rail. The price will entice.

FOURTH RACE

RENTAL POOL won her only turf race and it came versus special weights here. This filly has never seen claimers. Her return sprint try was a nice even effort and that should set the table for two turns today. Trainer stats are good across the board. TWO BE ROYAL has only missed the board on this sod in 2 of 13 tries. This barn is 25% on the grass. Race flow is average at best. TRENDY NEVE is the best of the rest. She draws fine and is versatile. NORA’S LEGACY is by a 14% debut turf sire. Her dam never tried the green and this is her first foal to run on the weeds.

FIFTH RACE

BABY GORDITA ran evenly in her debut even though she broke 9th of 11. Connections waste no time in finding her a much easier spot. We like this outside post and Eikleberry keeping the faith. This is dam’s first foal. WEE MS. BURNZIE has some sneaky speed. Class drop is main calling card. She has broken well in only one of three career starts. SWEET AS CANBE is by a 10% debut sire. Her dam was un-raced and this is her first foal. Works are well spaced for Mac. VIVA LOVANGO is by a 1 for 6 debut sire. Her dam went 40-9-8-3 and earned 1142K. Two of three sibs won with the best earning 35K. ALL NATIVE is by a 20% debut sire. Her dam was un-raced. All 3 sibs are winless.

SIXTH RACE

ANNIE’S SHENANIGAN is by a 10% debut sire and a 10% debut turf sire. Her dam went 15-2-1-0 and earned 16K (4-0-0-0 on the turf). All 3 sibs won while lone turf sibling is 7-2-0-0 for 21K (won turf

debut). This filly gets in light and has a nice work tab. Expecting a big price. DREAMING BIZ cost 90K and that is a ton for around here. Sire gets 14% debut turf winners. Her dam went 15-4-2-0 on the green and earned 40K (won turf debut). Lone sib is half brother Mister Banjoman who is a stakes winner of over 200K (1-0-0-0 on the green). FOR SARAS SAKE has a couple of solid tries on this sod, draws inside, and is bred to like the green. NOTE PAD is by a 8% debut sire and a 11% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced and this is her first foal. WARREN’S WISH is by a 11% debut turf sire. Her dam was un-raced. One fo two sibs won on the grass. TANTIMA is by a 14% debut turf sire (same sire as the 11). Her dam missed the board in only turf start. Lone sib never tried the grass. TOP SHELF SARA is by a 10% debut turf sire. Her dam went 13-4-1-0 on the green and banked 72K. Lone sib never tried the weeds.

SEVENTH RACE

CREATIVE ART is a horse for course. He is a hard trying 10YO now. Works are perfect. This gelding draws best and gets Arrieta. MERANGO TANGO has good upside, right? Nope. He is a 9YO making only his seventh start. What if he just likes it here? We like how he came from off the pace in his most recent. Did you notice that he won four back coming off a five year layoff? Maybe he didn’t like the turf three back nor the rail two back. He seems to be a solid sort now and connections find a good spot. CABIN JOHN ends up in a barn that is 20% with new runners. That work on the 3rd stands out as it was 4th best of 47. TUCKER TIME might be the value.

EIGHTH RACE

GEAUXCRO just ran well for Diodoro and should improve second time here. He is 2 for 2 when sprinting on the turf. He has tactical speed but can certainly pass a runner. We like that the blinkers go ON as that is a 37% move for this barn. SAMURAI MIKE was getting good at the end of the meet last summer. Three works are well spaced. What if this guy is a new turf horse? FERLIN HUSKY did run better in his last two starts at Turfway. In form runners often do well in turf sprints. This gelding has hit the board in 11 of 21 turf starts. Penchant for less is not lost on us.

NINTH RACE

Quarter horses.
