BEST BET: RACE 7, CHERISHED

FIRST RACE

DISINCLINED makes his first start since a runnerup finish against similar at Sam Houston. He owns this field’s best last-race and career Beyer Figure. CAPT. ST. JACQUES meets winners for the first time and also moves to two turns and Willis said earlier in the meet she felt added ground would suit this one. JOHN DOUGH is back on turf and his dam was a multiple stakes winner on the grass, running out $169K.

SECOND RACE

KATS SECOND SILVER makes a couple of notable moves, as he’s back with statebreds and back in the straight claiming ranks. He owns the field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. MEME JO is attempting to roll a perfect meet. The 10-year-old is 3-for-3 this season at Lone Star. He should be sharp for the move back to six furlongs - the distance of his win two back - off the five and a half furlong score. SHOTSOFT, like top choice, is back with statebreds and back in the straight claiming ranks.

THIRD RACE

UNLAWFUL ASSEMBLY finished in front of some of these last out and the seven-eighths start should have her sharp for the move back to two turns, where she has been effective, too. She draws an improved post over her three route starts. JULIA’S TEMPLE, who has an age edge on top choice as she is 4, makes her dirt debut after starting her career on turf. She’s well-versed at the two-turn trip. QUEEN OF CARNIVAL removes blinkers here and she’s put up her best Beyer Figures without the equipment.

FOURTH RACE

BOBBY BRINKLEY is a January foal who was edged in his career debut after a less than ideal trip. Since the start, he’s worked a sharp half-mile and makes what will be his first start in blinkers. WINGS FOR ENO and STRAWSUPONREQUEST both ran well last out against Island Sun, who is to start as the probable favorite in a restricted stakes Wednesday at Lone Star. WINGS FOR ENO is from a mare who won at 2. FEARLESS BLING showed good speed in his second career start and is bred to be a runner as a half-brother to the stakes winners Fearless Cowboy ($422K) and Lou Brissie ($176K), who was a Grade 3 winner at 2.

FIFTH RACE

BOLD REY enters on top of her game, as she’s won her last two starts. Her latest came at this distance at Lone Star and since the race the runner-up has returned to win an optional $30K claimer at LS with a Beyer of 78 and the seventh-place finisher, Ruby Sioux, a $12.5K claimer at EvD, with a Beyer of 66. POTRA LIZA hooked a quality kind of winner last out and the start was this one’s first on turf in some time. She’s back on dirt, and she’s been known to get on a roll on the main track. FROZEN HANNAH is back on dirt and she had main track success a few races back at Oaklawn.

SIXTH RACE

SOLAR CITY returns to the statebred ranks and might be sitting on a peak race in the third start of his form cycle. MULA WILD outran his odds last out when fourth in an off-the-turf route - breaking from a tough post. The race was his first against older rivals. This start marks his first against statebreds. GOLIATH RIDGE can make a real impact with a flashback to his turf form from Sam Houston.

SEVENTH RACE

CHERISHED exits a key race, with the winner coming back to take an N2X at Lone Star with a Beyer Figure of 84 and the runner-up, an N1X, also at LS, with a Beyer of 75. This one has speed and a post that might give Elliott options. SWEET MARY M leaves the statebred ranks behind, but is appealing as a three-time winner facing some less-experienced rivals. DISTORTED FLASH shortens up some in distance and brings speed to the table.

EIGHTH RACE

RESTORING HOPE gives up recency to these as he is making his first start since September, but

what he lacks there he makes up for in class as a Grade 2-placed runner who saw action in the 2018 Belmont Stakes. RESTORING HOPE shows some strong five-eighths works for his return. DOUBLE BARREL MAN became a stakes winner in February, when he captured the Louisiana Premiere Night Sprint at Delta Downs. He hooked a quality kind of winner last out, in the Louisiana Legends Sprint at EvD, and before that ran a big race at Lone Star.

NEW COLOSSUS can take advantage if the pace gets too hot up front Monday.
