BEST BET: RACE 9, MO GEE

FIRST RACE

CAMPS BAY must overcome post 11 going a mile on turf in the opener, but he is appealing from a class standpoint as he’s been lining up against steeper at Santa Anita. He also has an age edge on TAPSOLUTIO­N. The latter draws a better post than top choice, and moves back into the maiden claiming ranks after facing maiden allowance foes. SEDONA SUNSET exits a race that has drawn two next-out winners. The third-place finisher came back to take a $40K maiden claimer at OP with a Beyer of 56 and the sixth-place finisher, a $20K maiden claimer at LS, with a Beyer of 60.

SECOND RACE

FORMULA ran a big race last out in her first start against winners and for this trip moves back to dirt, site of her maiden win. UPGRADE ME meets winners for the first time following a dominant maiden score at Louisiana Downs. CONTENDRES­S makes a rare start at two turns for Diodoro, who wins at an above average rate with his sprint-toroute prospects. This one also adds blinkers.

THIRD RACE

ELITCH gives up recency to some of these as he last raced in April, but Asmussen wins at an above average rate with runners returning of layoffs of 61-180 days, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. This one also exits a race that has produced three next-out winners. The fourth-place finisher, Fallstar, came back in his next start to account for a $7,500 conditione­d claimer at WRD, with a Beyer of 60; the seventh-place finisher, Mahola John, a $7,500 claimer at LaD, with a Beyer of 59; and the 11th-place finisher, D’urban Park, a $3,500 claimer at PrM, with a Beyer of 67. LETHAL MOVE returns to the claiming ranks after hooking a quality Texasbred last out in Redatory. BAGPIPES draws a much improved post over his last start, and has a chance to take these gate to wire.

FOURTH RACE

SYMPHONY HALL is a fresh face as this marks her first out since April. Her trainer, Diodoro, wins at an above average rate with runners returning from layoffs of 61-180 days, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. As for the race this one exits, the runner-up came back in her next start to account for an N1X at LS with a Beyer of 69 and the 10th-place finisher, Ms Big Spring, a $12.5K claimer at GP, with a Beyer of 50. BIG TINY has class appeal as one who has been facing steeper. This also marks the third start of her form cycle. TOP HAT CHARMER is a logical choice back off a runner-up finish against similar last out. She now moves back to the distance of her most recent win.

FIFTH RACE

CYPRESS POINT could prove to be the controllin­g speed in this spot. QUINN MURPHY is back in the straight claiming ranks for the first time in a while and note the last two times she faced such foes she won. SOARING NOW is back on turf, site of the bulk of her wins and her best career Beyer Figure.

SIXTH RACE

ALOHA DREAMER brings speed to the table and the asset should serve her well at this five-eighths of a mile trip. She also owns this field’s best lastrace Beyer Figure. SCATTERED MIST makes some notable moves. She cuts back to one turn and makes her first career start on dirt, and note Rossi wins at an above average rate with his turf to dirt runners, according to statistics from Daily Racing Form. RATHMEISTE­R might get an ideal stalking trip from her outside post. She has an age edge on top choice as she is 4.

SEVENTH RACE

MIZ NIGHTCAP faced steeper last time and also has reason to move forward in her second start since April. FRUHL’N AROUND has excellent speed and the asset figures to serve her well at this fiveeighth­s of a mile trip. LAUREN’S LASSIE is back on dirt and she was a double digit winner on the main track at Ellis.

EIGHTH RACE

DUSTWHIRL WONDER moves back to the main track and back to one turn and note her last win came at this distance on dirt. She has experience on these as a three-time winner and goes for barn in the midst of a memorable meet at Lone Star. SPARKLING AIR split the field last out in her first start since February and would seem to have reason to move forward in her second race back. She’s a half-sister to Texas Air ($401K), a past winner of the Grade 3 Texas Mile at Lone Star for the same owner-trainer team as this one. WHIPUM NAENAE cuts back to one turn, site of her best recent races. TAKE CHARGE WOMAN is a half-sister to Ima Discreet Lady, a multiple stakes winner who was to start as a top contender here Sunday in the Valor Farm Stakes. SARDABLING won her debut last out and has been flattered since, as two runners she defeated returned to win in their next outs.

NINTH RACE

MO GEE was beaten just a length last out by a winner who has since captured two more races, one at Evangeline and one at Louisiana Downs. MO GEE has reason to move forward in his second start since May, and he also owns this field’s best last-race Beyer Figure. DAUNTLESS PRINCE is appealing for his natural speed, while MUCHO DINERO makes a rare appearance on the lawn and his turf tries have been credible.
