BEST BET: RACE 4, COFFEE BUZZ BUZZ

FIRST RACE

Just hoping switch back to grass combined with the class drop will be enough to propel WILD STORY into the winner’s circle in the opener. Held own with much better on grass at 2. Has the speed to overcome the tough outside post. SUPER LEGGERA ran credibly if not spectacularly at first asking behind loose on lead winner and class dropping runner-up. Looks well spotted staying put off the claim. DAUPHINE trailed field vs stronger in a race won by even money, wire to wire Crystal Coast. Can improve with one under belt at this weak level.

SECOND RACE

THIS DUDES NO FOOL stretches out, returns to dirt second off the claim for fairly hot barn at the present time. Should get loose, might not look back here. DROPPED ANCHOR hard used on the lead, held second money albeit behind 20-1 winner while showing improvement from Beyer standpoint stepping up off the maiden win. Well drawn inside, figures forwardly throughout while re-uniting with Paco today. HICKERSON an even fourth behind Dropped Anchor in their previous meeting but in good hands off the claim. Eligible to improve with some help up front.

THIRD RACE

Will be interesting to see who takes early initiative in a relatively pace less affair. CITY MAGIC turned in very promising debut for this tag despite poor start, wide trip, punctuating the effort with a huge gallop out. Got hung wide, never switched off left lead stepping up last time.Back where he belongs for third start of form cycle. UNDER FIRE checked to last at the break, raced wide, showed some late interest in promising turf bow. Can do better with cleaner beginning.NAVAJO CREED had to take up in traffic awaiting clearance on final turn, rallied mildly once clear and also galloped out with good energy in improved showing last time. Could be ready for best yet today.

FOURTH RACE

COFFEE BUZZ BUZZ, the day’s best, beaten three lengths by stakes caliber I Get It two back. Need only repeat that kind of try returning to dirt to get back on winning track. BABY LION a runaway winner against over-matched bunch of bottom level maiden claimers. Steps up with tougher but similar effort puts her right with this mix. ELLIEREESEASTON rallied mildly off what was not quite as fast a pace as official chart suggests(hand timed it a second slower to the half) and now back in familiar hands off the re-claim. Expecting best yet.

FIFTH RACE

MIGHTY TOUGH gets some additional class relief plummeting down for a quarter after getting with a few lengths of much, much better last time. Could be ready to graduate if able to work out a clean trip,. JEALOUS EYES continues to progress in right direction from Beyer standpoint, ran well behind class dropping Souper Energizer last time. Sitting on a win for this tag. FINDING MISCHIEF was not abused after dropping back on second turn for twice this tag in much needed outing, looks loose as can be on front end here. Might get brave at big balloons.

SIXTH RACE

PULLING STRINGS adds blinkers returning at the proper level off the extended vacation. Lures Irad. Good fit here. WELL SHES HANDSOME hard to fault off credible debut when well backed but no match after chasing another well meant first timer, Between Dreams, start to finish on 1/16. Hard to ignore. FIOR DI LATTE also should have plenty of early foot returning to dirt, stretching to six furlongs.

SEVENTH RACE

SECOND MATE comes up tagged just two starts removed from big effort behind red hot and recently graded SW Venezuelan Hug while also winless in quite some time but accorded top billing if close to best with this group. HONEY WON’T stays put off the claim after a strong effort off the bench vs. similar when having some run but trapped in traffic behind horses late stretch last time. DUNDALK should be loose on the lead again. Hard to leave out of the equation entirely. Will hang on one of these days with this kind.

EIGHTH RACE

ONE EYED JACK missed a length to loose on lead Churchill’s Victory last time, the latter flattering effort coming back to run 75 Beyer at next asking. Not meeting this kind dropping to today’s level off the claim. ALEJANDRO’S TEAM the biggest question mark returning to dirt and taking big class plunge off poor effort last time. Obviously good enough to beat these if near best. SUPER EDGAR coming off solid gate drill, could be expected to show improved speed if repeating that effort. Worth tossing in for at least a share at big price.

NINTH RACE

MARGARET’S JOY chased home a couple of good ones in the Endeavour, Chad Brown’s odds on Counterparty Risk and Mott’s Group 3 Euro winner New York Girl. Not facing that type here while also bred to stay the route being a full to 1 1/2 mile McKnight winner Spooky Channel.VALLETTA hard to fault in present form. Figures forwardly throughout with distance the main issue here. DIAMOND SPARKLES another who must answer the 12 furlong question but taken to iimprove off much needed try last time.

TENTH RACE

FRENCHMEN STREET back in familiar hands, in fact back to barn from which he last posted a victory 13 months ago. Working well, should get plenty of pace to work with in this lineup. WHAT’S INSIDE a bit of a sleeper perhaps exiting a much troubled trip, promising showing last time vs. similar. Dangerous if away cleaner, kept closer to early pace this time around. STATION ROCK knocking on door at the level but must overcome tough post. Can be along late for at least a piece.
