BEST BET: RACE 6, LEN LO LADY

FIRST RACE

BAHAMIAN RHAPSODY chased, came out second best behind odds on, class dropping Pletcher runner Exact when trying this level for the first time last month. Does not appear to be facing that kind in the opener. MISS LAMARR a new face to the equation from high percentage barn. Might fit for this tag right off the bench. ECLIPTICALS CAROL makes third start of her form cycle while returning to the turf. Has had poor racing luck in both previous starts.

SECOND RACE

KIRBY ran well behind 8-5 Say Cheese last time and might have enough speed to lead these a merry chase if aggressively handled, put right on the front end from her inside post. INFATUATING logical as the only multiople winner of the bunch. Stays put after winning for same tag as odds on choice in latest. Distance the question here as well.KENTUCKY PRIDE turned in even try when over-matched returning to dirt for 3yo bow. Drops to more suitable spot.

THIRD RACE

TALK RADIO didn’t have the cleanest of trips while not badly beaten at MSW level in 2yo finale. Training forwardly for 3yo bow, goes first time Lasix and first time claiming tag for hot barn. Gets major break in weights as lone 3yo in this spot, figures on or with the lead in relatively pace-less affair. OCEAN AIR another going MSW to maiden claiming while making third start of her form cycle. Strictly the one to beat. HONOR HOP comes off much needed out off an extended vacation and another getting needed class relief today.

FOURTH RACE

YITO MACHINE bet to 4-1 at first asking but never got a call following tardy beginning. Claimed out of the race, been away a long time, returns for half the price sporting several grass works and one promising looking main track drill from the gate. Might fit nicely with this kind. CONVERTER continues to knock on the door although does appear to be a bit of a hanging sort. Drops to cheapest level yet. PACIFIC LEGEND has the speed to prove dangerous on drop, turn back in distance off pair of longer tries to start the meet.

FIFTH RACE

WEISSER beat this same kind two back including next out, runaway winner Northern. Was hard used on the lead wheeling back on relatively short rest last time. Might not look back again if put right on lead from the outset. RESIDENT back where he best belongs after being ambitiously placed in 2021 bow. Figures to stalk top one throughout.

YOUSHOULDBESOLUCKY somewhat of a question mark making very rare appearance on dirt but worked well enough over the surface earlier this month to merit a chance at a square price.

SIXTH RACE

LEN LO LADY got a nice confidence boost when dropping in for a tag, proving dominant winner on graduation day. Need only repeat that kind of try to take another. ARMY WIFE makes local bow off yet another troubled trip in CD finale when second best behind race winner who went on to take a minor stakes at Remington Park in her next start.

Addition of Lasix could also prove a plus. One to fear. GONE TO CABO could take this group a long way on front end stretching to a mile off series of shorter outings.

Bears Watching hard to ignore for a number of reasons in this one although at a short price why not look for an alternative and try first time starter STAINLESS STEEL who fetched over $500K at the sales, is kin to multiple graded stakes placed Stainless and who has shown enough promise in the a.m. prepping for bow. Lots to like about BEARS WATCHING except the likely final price. A half to Code of Honor who ran extremely well at first asking and who readily galloped out past the field indicating added distance should only be a plus today. GRAN RUNNER exits one of the most potent races seen here in a while, a MSW dash from which four of the five horses who have returned won their next starts including sainthood with a 76 Beyer around two turns.

EIGHTH RACE

The usual suspects gather to go 12 furlongs with very little pace amongst the field which might give SOGLIO the edge he needs to turn tables on nemesis BOURBON IN MAY if able to secure the front end, control things right from the outset from his inside post. Hard to fault Bourbon in May who came roaring from far back off ridiculous pace to beat this same bunch at a mile and three-eighths. YAMATO a lightly raced sort but certainly proven at this trip.

NINTH RACE

Lots of options in this one. EL SOCIO adds blinkers after turning in sharp effort behind even money Floriform and Pletcher trained Bracken in latest. Look for him to be battling on or near front end from the outset. FLY LIKE AN EAGLE was bet down to post time favorite in debut, ran well but may have needed the effort in a race controlled on front end by King of Dreams. GWAUN RIVER VALLEY another potential win factor if taking to the surface. Second best behind Pletcher’s Overtook debuting on dirt, the latter flattering effort finishing 2nd in the Withers in next start. Addition of Lasix may aid the cause.

TENTH RACE

FUNNYBET stumbled badly at the break, recovered to give in form, 6 -5 Black Magic Woman a run for her money at the end making promising local bow. Would hope to see closer to the early leaders with luckier beginning today. DON’T GET KHOZY finished behind preferred choice in their previous meeting, flattered that race coming back to defeat starter company just 10 days later while matching career best Beyer in the process. Just a question of whether she can repeat those two big efforts back again on relatively short rest. PRINCESS BETTY chased home preferred pair in the previous meeting but well drawn inside, could find herself in this mix with proper trip.

ELEVENTH RACE

Little to choose between five or six of these with trip likely to decide outcome. HARRY’S ONTHELOOSE has been on the fringes with much better in last pair including Breeders’ Cup runners Imprimis and Leinster. Drops just enough in company, perhaps to get back on winning track with clear sailing at the end.CAROTARI the defending champ in this race, returns off solid but troubled trip of his own in 2021 bow. YES I AM FREE just failed to fend off Mai Ty One On under high price allowance conditions but certainly hard to fault in his present form.

TWELFTH RACnE

GUACO ran big race behind 6/5 All Good when stretching back around two turns for first time in quite a while, succumbing grudgingly at the end after attending honest pace. Turns back a sixteenth, similar effort might be good enough to take the nightcap. NINJA DUST gets best of post position draw exiting same race as preferred choice while adding set of blinkers to boot. Should be in thick of things at the end. JUAN PABLO close but not cigar stuck in third gear for quick some time now but hard to leave out of the equation. Giant question mark concerning idled, class dropping Danzing Dunhill. Obviously class of field if having one decent one left in the tank.
