BEST BET: RACE 6, BENEFACTOR

FIRST RACE

LEWIS CAL caught a good bunch in debut while also breaking poorly and racing greenly. Addition of blinkers may prove noteworthy off that effort as will the drop in company to this softer level. SETTE STELLE a new gelding since turning in even try vs. similar last time. Zayas stays and rail draw could prove a plus, especially with logical choice CITY MAGIC parked on extreme outside and needing to work out a trip at likely short price.

SECOND RACE

SWING WEST hard to fault in current form, won this condition two back in game fashion, does not seem to be facing as tough a bunch today. Still trying to figure where that huge effort came three back for DARK AGES when freaking to an 80 Beyer out of nowhere. Rest of form pretty dull, just a matter of whether he can get back even close to that type of performance again. JANUARY WON has been on fringes for this tag on several occasions.

THIRD RACE

HARRY’S ON THE LOOSE getting plenty of class relief after bit of dull showing last time although back on Lasix and too good for this group if near his best. SMOKE ALARM in good form and looks loose on front end today. Might get brave. AMOR LEJANO eligible to improve off U.S. debut when dropping too far out of contention early on. Worth a look at the price.

FOURTH RACE

MY MANE MAN turned in big debut run when making solid middle move, fading late behind well meant first timer Uphold the Law. Should benefit from the effort and turn back to this distance. SCRAPPY ARTIE logical off first two career starts but must avoid another early duel with Twice too Many ala their first meeting on 2/25. ALONZO working forwardly for his debut although sire not generally known as a win early type.

FIFTH RACE

KING OF ROCK given no chance when taken to rear of field first off the claim for team Maker but galloped out strong and has since returned with credible main track drill. Taken for value in typically wide open category. SOVEREIGN WARRIOR surely knocking on door with this kind finishing a neck back of 6-5 Star Weaver but obviously somewhat of a hanging sort with only two wins in 27 career starts. GOING FOR GOLD impressive winning N2L condition while beating pair of next out winners in the process although stepping up with better and likely facing a bit more pace pressure this time around.

SIXTH RACE

BENEFACTOR, the day’s best, drops to softest level yet and with the speed to ultimately stand some catching while well spotted to get back to winner’s circle for first time in quite awhile. NACHO PAPA drops below level of recent claim while turning back in distance off steady diet of one turn mile races. Barn owns high mark placing new faces. ROYAL SQUEEZE another getting much needed class relief. Old vet shell of former self but may

prove decent fit for this tag.

SEVENTH RACE

SPIN YOUR PARTNER puts blinkers back on and seems to be doing some decent work in the a.m. prepping for second try at this level after fading late in key race last time. Taken for value in another wide open turf spot. MY MISS MIRACLE overcame slow start to win debut at the expense of Lululla who came back to win maiden for $50K next time. Has been away since but with plenty of works on tab in interim although taking on elder foes for first time here. SHE FLED THE SCENE on the fringes on numerous occasions with this kind. Hard to leave out of the equation.

EIGHTH RACE

MR. BRIGGS had shown potential in the a.m. last summer at Spa and held own with debut MSW winner Democracy earlier this winter. Son of Super Saver could be well spotted for early success of his own. TAITA finished full of run after being snugged well off fast pace in most recent try, appears to be sitting on a win at this level. ROAD TO SUCCESS another new face and one who fetched a pretty penny at the sales. Seems to be well prepared for his bow. Tabbing board for further evidence with this guy and Mr. B.

NINTH RACE

PROJECTED given no chance when hauled to rear of back, early stages, last out, now in new hands while taking another class plunge. Lures hot jock. One of many in this wide open mix. NOTSOSUBTLE poorly drawn but exiting big main track drill while dropped to more suitable spot. Another price play in a head scratcher. CASH CALL KITTEN a pretty consistent typ who loves the local course and this distance. Hard to ignore.

TENTH RACE

JOE DI BAGGIO disappointed in last pair although caught slop and strong group the first time, a 1:21 7/8’s clocking the next. Late striding type catches what figures to be honest pace scenario here. RESERVE NOT ATTAINED ran well in defeat while finishing well in front of preferred one on 3/12 snapping a three race win streak in the process. Previous tries, all 90 plus Beyers, make him eligible to bounce right back. LUDINGTON dueled, faded badly stretching to seven-eighths himself in latest, seemingly tailing off following couple of vastly improved tries for new barn. Just a question of which Ludington shows up here.

ELEVENTH RACE

MYSTIC LANCELOT with only a single win on resume’ and none since summer of 2019 but running well since returning from lengthy vacation and with the proper style to take advantage of what figures to be contentious pace. LIGHT FURY also should sit a trip off all the speed breaking from rail and in best form of career at the present time. KAUFY BEAN tossed in on strength of big recent work although must avoid getting mixed up with all that inside speed from his outside post.

TWELFTH RACE

TIME SENSITIVE put blinkers back on after forcing issue, fading late dropping to this level for first time last month. Consistent sort may ultimately prove one to catch if able to take advantage of his early foot in this bulky lineup. SECRETS KEPT and AMERICAN CLASSIC both logical choices off their most recent form although both must work out trips from tough outside gates. Former getting stronger with addition of Lasix, latter having no visible excuse while debuting vs. much tougher but likely to appreciate the race under belt and big class drop.
