EIGHTH RACE WOODBINE

winners. She galloped out strongly then and has a blend of speed and stamina in her pedigree.

BAKSHEESH never challenged over giving ground in the G1 Natalma. The way she closed to win the Muskoka Stakes suggests that two turns on the Tapeta is within her range, and she’s bred to handle the stretchout. Unraced MOIRA is wellregarded by trainer Kevin Attard, who has good stats with 2yo first-timers in routes. MO TOURING is bred to run on and should be a speed threat.

BAYOU BELLE is turning back off an inside-biasaided blowout score in a $16K conditioned route on the Tapeta Sept. 24, when she was scooped up by a trainer with 23% strike rate first-time off the claim. She has some speed to chase here on the turnback to 6 1/2 furlongs, a distance over which she’s questionable, and could be along in time. MAKE NO MISTAKE was competitive in her last few against optional starter opposition, and can handle either surface. SAMURAI QUEEN showed little last time in a tough optional starter on the inner turf. She should make her presence known if she fires one of her better shots.

NINTH RACE

BELENTIME has a number of improvement angles going for him in this $25K maiden sprint, including a drop in class, a turnback in distance, and first-time gelding. IN ALL ALONE ran his best race going seven-eighths on the Tapeta in his debut last October. KODIAK MAMBA brings decent turf form to this event, and his lone Tapeta race wasn’t bad. HULLABALOO woke up when second on the drop to this level Oct. 9.

TENTH RACE

VEERY made a threatening three-wide bid before fading to fifth when favored at first asking at this class and distance. Her trainer’s second-timers have been more effective than his firsters at the meet. ASHBURY earned the highest recent Beyer in the field (71) when a stalking second three weeks ago on the turf. The 4yo has since worked a halfmile on the Tapeta for a live barn. TAQUANYAH and CEDAR VALLEY are candidates for the lower rungs of the exotics.
