Po­lice make ar­rest in Oak Lawn car­jack­ing

A Chicago man re­cently paroled for car­jack­ing has been ar­rested and charged in con­nec­tion with forc­ing a woman from her car in

Oak Lawn and flee­ing in the ve­hi­cle, Oak Lawn po­lice said.

Dwayne Cor­ley, 25, of the 600 block of East 72nd Street, was ar­rested Thurs­day fol­low­ing an al­leged car­jack­ing Wed­nes­day in Oak Lawn in the 6200 block of 95th Street, po­lice said. Cor­ley

Cor­ley has two prior con­vic­tions for car­jack­ing and was re­leased fromprison on pa­role Oct. 4 for a ve­hic­u­lar hi­jack­ing com­mit­ted in 2015, po­lice said Fri­day in a news re­lease.

He­was charged with one count of pos­ses­sion of a stolen mo­tor ve­hi­cle in the Oak Lawn in­ci­dent, with bail set at $150,000, po­lice said.

A fe­male vic­tim had told po­lice she was sit­ting in her car at about noonWed­nes­day in a park­ing lot in the 6200 block of West 95th when a man opened her car door, de­manded she get out and get down onto the ground.

The woman com­plied, and the man left in her gray 2017HyundaiVelostar, flee­ing in an un­known di­rec­tion, po­lice said. The car­jacker did not showaweapon or im­ply he had one.

Po­lice said the in­ves­ti­ga­tion led them to the area of 71st Street and Lan­g­leyAv­enue in Chicago, where they saw a man sit­ting in the parked Hyundai who matched the phys­i­cal and cloth­ing de­scrip­tion of the of­fender given by the woman.
