Lincoln-WayWest student heading to medical conference
Samuel Duckworth, a junior at LincolnWayWest High School, will be a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders in June in Lowell, Mass. The Congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go intomedicalresearchfields. Hewill represent Illinois based on his academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine. Duckworth’s nomination letterwas signed by Dr. Mario Capecchi, winner of the Nobel Prize in Medicine. During the three-day Congress, Duckworth will join students from across the country to talk about leading medical research, receive advice from medi- cal school deans on what to expect and learn about cutting edge advances and the future in medicine and medical technology.
