Speak Out

Daily Southtown (Sunday) - - OPINION -

Gov.-elect J.B. Pritzker tapped a group to tackle the education issue. State officials estimate they need about $7 billion more to fund kindergarten through 12th grade. Unless this group faces reality as to what really is the problem, we will keep going down this road again and again. Why not address the elephant that has been facing us for years? Why not have a plan to combine some school districts? This would automatically save us money. Thiswould be a bold move but money is essential. By all means stop coming to us the taxpayers.

I’m with first lady Melania Trump. I think the red Christmas trees in the White House look absolutely beautiful. It’s time for a change like everybody said so why not change the Christmas trees? Merry Christmas, everyone.

Daily Southtown columnists Donna Vickroy and Ted Slowik are excellent journalists. I love to read whatever they put in the newspaper.
