Tollway bridge work to close LaGrange Road lanes
A long-term lane closure began this week on northbound LaGrange Road at the Central Tri-State Tollway (Interstate 294) in Willow Springs and Justice for bridge construction as part of the Mile Long Bridge Project.
Electronic message signs and construction signage will alert drivers. The closures are necessary to safely accommodate traffic and provide a work zone for the removal and installation of bridge beams over the local roadway and construction of the new Mile Long Bridge.
Through November, northbound LaGrange Road will be reduced to two lanes between 87th Street and I-294. Three lanes will remain open for southbound traffic. Delays during morning and evening rush hours are expected.
Other temporary lane closures in both directions on LaGrange Road will continued as needed into 2021, including off-peak daily and overnight lane closures for work associated with bridge construction.
