Sad but true that Disney Corp. formerly, The Wonderful World of Disney, has transitioned into the Wacky & Woke World of Disney. Their corporate executives are weighing in on issues like the Parental Rights in Education bill which protects very young, impressionable school kids from inappropriate age topics. Where are they on their Chinese film partners regarding the horrific abuse and persecution of minorities in Communist China? At Disney World, they have dropped the greetings for ladies and gentlemen and boys and girls. Really? This current woke group is destroying the innocent, wholesome and family friendly visions of the late, great Walt Disney. He’s probably tossing in his grave.

Don, Orland Park Congratulations to Ald. Nicole Lee, who takes over the 11th Ward, replacing the crooked politician who held the position previously, that being Patrick Daley Thompson. I guess the name Daley, even in middle name, doesn’t absolve you from breaking the law. His alibi presented by his law partners, that he is an honest man just not good at record keeping, is a joke, but what else would you expect from another lawyer.

YCM, Orland Park Thanks Suzie of Homer Glen for your Speak Out on selecting a village manager. We in Glenwood are in the same situation.

Mr. J, Glenwood

After reading the crime blotter in the Southtown for the last two weeks, my hat is off to the Orland Park Police Department. They seem to be making a lot of gun arrests in the lot of Orland Square mall and the nearby vicinity. What saddens me is in reading the details of each arrest it’s clear that these alleged offenders are coming to Orland Park from Chicago and other southland communities illegally armed and more than likely to commit crime. If they think the mall or Orland Park is a soft target the Orland Park Police Department is proving them wrong.

Henyard, Dolton mayor and Thornton Township supervisor, is exhibit A of what can happen when apathy reigns. I feel for the citizen voters of Dolton and Thornton Township that didn’t back this poor excuse for a leader but must suffer the consequences. I hope she is recalled in the June election.

The Academy Awards has become a very crappy show. All these multimillionaires singing each other’s praises. Most of the awards are for things people in the real world have no idea who they are or what it’s about. The Will Smith incident was completely out of line. He should have waited until after the show and talked to Chris Rock. The in memoriam was a joke. You want to see which actors and actresses have passed away but you can’t even read the names they go so fast. And most of them are people behind the scenes, people in the real world don’t know. That horrible music festival during the in memoriam completely overshadowed the actors and actresses who passed. Tony, Palos Heights What happened to the art of being a good actor or actress? Today, these young, aspiring actors and actresses have no oclue how to play a role with emotion and feeling. They get by because of their looks, not their talent. Years ago, the greats in the movie business lived their role with passion, desire and professional expertise. Back then, you left the theater entertained, not confused.

Mr. G., Chicago

Wake up Republicans. Can’t you see what’s going on? Your ex-president Trump, he’s more concerned about a homecoming, trying to talk about someone else’s scandal, about Biden. He’s not concerned with the killing of the people of Ukraine, he’s only concerned about himself. His motivation is to get back into the presidential race. He’s only about himself.

LT, Glenwood

I’m sure Paul from Tinley knows more than me regarding who regulates oil prices. He claims the greedy big oil companies are the culprits. Probably true. However, if Biden reversed his executive order that ended our energy independence and resumed drilling, our entire consumer cost structure would be drastically lowered. If he and the radical Democrats continue to prevent and deliberately obstruct, that’s treason.

Why doesn’t Ukraine and NATO get together and start bombing Putin’s home, his buildings, his capital and the rest of it, because Ukraine now is going to spend all their money on rebuilding? Why don’t we give Russia a problem with their after war rebuilding. It would sure make a difference, I think, because Putin might say, man this is costing more than I figured. Anyway, we should do something and at least do it to Putin so he has to do some big money rebuild.

John, Homer Glen

Bob, stop blaming President Biden for Americans in Afghanistan. They were warned and told if they did not get our, we might not be able to help them. They chose to stay. The fault for Afghanistan lies with the Afghans, no one else. They allowed a corrupt government to flourish and paid the price, despite the billions we spent there. You can’t help people who won’t help themselves. We should have learned that lesson from Vietnam.

Paul, Tinley Park

Some people are

upset President Biden told the truth how he and many other Americans felt about Putin being removed from power. Putin has killed innocent children and women and bombed hospitals and destroyed Ukraine. Putin is an egomaniac and is a satanic and evil person who is like Trump, he wants to have it his way or no way and wants people in Russia to not learn the truth while Trump lies to everyone. At least with Biden, he told it like it is and wasn’t sugarcoating it. The truth hurts sometimes but I would rather know the truth then being lied to everyday by Trump.
