“Room 104” (10:30 p.m., 1 a.m., HBO): Season 2 of this anthology series from sibling creators Mark and Jay Duplass premieres tonight with two back-to-back episodes, a format that will continue on subsequent Fridays. In the first, “FOMO” (an acronym for “fear of missing out”), Charlyne Yi (“House”) stars as Grace, whose close friends Matty and Tanya (Tom Lenk, Pia Shah) take her on a trip to celebrate her 30th birthday. They’re surprised when her sister, Karen (Jennifer Lafleur), shows up uninvited.

“Red Sparrow” (6:40 p.m., 10 p.m., Cinemax): Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence had a rare critical and commercial misfire with this 2018 adaptation of a novel by former CIA member Jason Matthews. The thriller casts Lawrence as a former ballerina turned Russian spy, who is assigned by her masters with seducing a CIA agent (Joel Edgerton) and persuading him to divulge the name of a Russian asset who is working for him. The movie eked out a profit at the box office, but came under fire for its gratuitous sex and violence.

“The Cool Kids” (7:30 p.m., FOX): Hank and Margaret (David Alan Grier, Vicki Lawrence) have their hearts set on winning a new oversize flat-screen TV that’s the grand prize in a cornhole competition, so they’re sorely disappointed when it goes to some other residents instead. After they find out the winners actually cheated, however, Charlie (Martin Mull) helps them mastermind a “TV Heist” that involves breaking into Allison’s (guest star Artemis Pebdani) office after locking her in the sauna with Sid (Leslie Jordan).

“Midnight, Texas” (8 p.m., NBC): With critical hours slipping by, Fiji and Manfred (Parisa Fitz-Henley, Francois Arnaud) mount a desperate effort to discover who or — given that we’re talking about this creepy little town — what is trying to kill Bobo (Dylan Bruce) in a new episode called “To Witch Hell and Back.” Meanwhile, a guilt-stricken Rev (Yul Vazquez) struggles to cope with the moral weight of his dark past, and Joe (Jason Lewis) embraces his new “night job,” which his husband knows nothing about.

“Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” (8 p.m., 11 p.m., Food): Host Guy Fieri shifts gears into full-blown carnivore mode for “Meaty Mashup,” which takes him to Little Rock, Ark., where an eatery that used to be a gas station is now pumping bison into a burrito, along with cornmeal waffles piled high with pork. A Vietnamese joint in Santa Rosa, Calif., specializes in fantastic pho from the home country, but also offers succulent barbecue pork. Over in Napa, Calif. people line up for a monster burger and fried chicken.
