Two men were arrested after a violent argument outside of The Odyssey, 19110 Ridgeland Avenue, following a wedding party Dec. 2.

Police said the incident began when one victim kicked aside a pair of high-heeled shoes that had been left on the floor of the bar as the victim was making his way to the exit with his girlfriend. The two arrestees became angry with the victim for kicking the shoes and followed him outside, where 31-year-old Michael Mizanskey began screaming “I’m going to bust your teeth in”, and then reached through the victim’s car window and punched the male victim in the face, according to a police report. The second man, 30-year-old Daniel Taylor, then smashed the male victim on the head with a beer bottle, also injuring the victim’s girlfriend who was yelling at the men to stop and placing herself in between the attackers and her boyfriend.

Police said both victims suffered lacerations to the scalp but refused medical treatment.

All four were attending the same wedding party, but the victims did not know the attackers, police said.

Mizanskey, of the 7600 block of Sequoia Road, Palos Heights, was arrested and accused of one count of battery causing bodily harm and one count of assault, police said. Daniel Taylor, of Joliet, was arrested and accused of two counts of battery causing bodily harm. Both men are scheduled to appear at the Bridgeview Courthouse Jan. 8.
