Learn a new skill, try a new ac­tiv­ity and check out a va­ri­ety of top­ics at Oak Lawn Pub­lic Li­brary’s How-To Fest from noon to 4 p.m. Jan. 19. This drop-in event is for all ages, but some sta­tions may be geared to­ward a spe­cific age group. Sta­tions fea­ture lo­cal ex­perts, com­mu­nity mem­bers and li­brary staff who will share their tal­ents. Top­ics in­clude: Mak­ing choco­late (teens and adults); writ­ing a book (teens and adults); ap­ply­ing makeup (teens and adults); gam­ing with Ex­tra Life (all ages); lobby demos with li­brary staff (teens and adults); mak­ing a craft (teens and adults); cre­at­ing hand­made comic book thought bub­bles (all ages); and car­ing for some­one with Alzheimer’s (adults).
