Cool, breezy and wet start to Oc­to­ber

While tem­per­a­tures for the last three days of Septem­ber­were be­lownor­mal, the month ended more than11/2 degrees above nor­mal. Septem­ber ended with pre­cip­i­ta­tion near nor­mal, al­though no pre­cip­i­ta­tion fell at O’Hare Air­port fromSeptem­ber 14th through Septem­ber 26th. Oc­to­ber will start quite cool with high tem­per­a­tures ex­pected to re­main in the 50s for the first four days of the month which has only oc­curred eight times since 1872. The nor­mal high for the first three days of Oc­to­ber is 68 be­fore drop­ping to 67 on the fourth. Tem­per­a­tures be­gin to­warm as the next work­week be­gins with the high ex­pected to be above nor­mal byWed­nes­day.

The best chance for pre­cip­i­ta­tion over the next few days will be Thurs­day and late Satur­day into Sun­day with no heavy rain ex­pected.
