“Country at Heart” (8 p.m., Hallmark): This 2020 romance stars Jessy Schram (“Chicago Med”) as Shayna, a struggling songwriter who’s considerin­g abandoning her fledgling career when a chance encounter with Grady (Niall Matter) presents a big break. He’s currently working on a song for country star Duke Sterling (Lucas Bryant) and invites Shayna to be his writing partner. Romance blooms, but when Duke takes a shine to her and invites her to join his tour as an opening act, Shayna faces a tough decision.

“Downhill” (7 p.m., HBO): Jim Rash and Nat Faxon, who won an Oscar for co-writing the 2011 movie drama “The Descendant­s,” also co-wrote and co-directed this 2020 Black comedy, an English-language remake of the well-received 2014 Swedish film “Force Majeure.” This remake stars comedy veterans Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Will Ferrell as Billie and Pete Stanton, amarried couple on a family ski vacation who re-assess their lives and relationsh­ip when an avalanche threatens to kill them. Miranda Otto and Zach Woods also star.

“Help! IWrecked My House”( 7 p.m., 1:59 a.m., HGTV): Since taking amassive chunk off their 1960s fixer upper during an attempted DIY renovation, a couple has been living with a gutted living room and kitchen. Their situation has left the pair numb, with no plans on how to fix the demolition, but host Jasmine Roth works with them— and their desperatel­y dwindling budget — to create a stunning beach house retreat in the new episode “Can You Believe I’m Living Here?”

“Dying to Be a Cheerleade­r” (7 p.m., 11:01 p.m., Lifetime): Cheerleade­rs, beware! Lifetime gets into the spooky spirit early with this new TV movie premiere, which kicks off a series of “Fear the Cheer” films airing in October. Here, Darcy (Dominique Booth) is caught up in the glitz and glamour of becoming a part of the cheer squad at her new school and decides to try out. Her dreams turn into a nightmare however, when amember of the team is found dead in the gym showers and all eyes turn on Darcy as themain suspect.

“Saturday Night Live” (10:29 p.m., NBC): The Emmy-winning late-night series opens Season 46, with Chris Rock hosting the performanc­e from the ‘SNL” home base in Rockefelle­r Center’s Studio 8H. With the 2020 presidenti­al election a month away, Jim Carrey begins a recurring guest role as Democratic candidate Joe Biden, withMaya Rudolph reprising her recurring role as Biden’s running mate, Kamala Harris. Megan Thee Stallion is the musical guest. All of last season’s cast, including Emmy winner Kate McKinnon, returns this season.
