WATCHTHIS: TUESDAY
“Ellen’s Game of Games”
(8 p.m., NBC): Her daytime talk-show may currently be involved in some behind-thescenes unhappiness, but that evidently hasn’t affected this popular primetime venture by Ellen DeGeneres, who returns for her fourth season of silliness, along with announcer Stephen “tWitch” Boss. NBC hasn’t released any details yet as to how the ongoing coronavirus pandemic will affect game play.
“Swamp Thing” (7 p.m., CW): In this TV series adaptation of a DC Comics property, Crystal Reed stars as Abby Arcane, a physician with the Center for Disease Control, who is dispatched to her Louisiana hometown to investigate what appears to be a deadly swamp-borne virus. She discovers much more, however, after her medical colleague Alec Holland (Andy Bean) appears to die, then literally resurfaces as an entity known as Swamp Thing (Derek Mears).
“NEXT” (8 p.m., FOX): This new sci-fi crime drama stars John Slattery (“Mad Men”) as Paul LeBlanc, a Silicon Valley pioneer who discovers to his horror that one of his own creations, a powerful artificial-intelligence unit, could spell doom for humanity. When he desperately tries to shut down the project, he is ousted from his company by his brother (Jason Butler Harner). Paul watches with dread while “inexplicable” tech mishaps seem to confirm his fears.
“Siempre, Luis” (8 p.m., HBO): Airing during National Hispanic Heritage Month, John James’ first documentary profiles pioneering activist Luis A. Miranda Jr., who has advocated for Latino communities for decades, played a key role in the New York and national political arenas and also found time to be a doting father to three children— including “Hamilton” creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“Transplant” (9 p.m., NBC): Bash (Hamza Haq) gives it his best shot when it comes to celebrating Eid, a Muslim festival, with his sister Amira (Sirena Gu-lamgaus), but she misses the celebrations they used to have back home in the new episode “Eid.” Back at the hospital, a patient comes to a decision Bash has a hard time respecting.
“Don’t Be Tardy ...” (9 p.m., 10:30 p.m., Bravo): Husband Kroy Biermann is excited by his idea to take his large clan on the road trip of a lifetime across the United States as this reality series launches Season 8, while Kim and the girls can’t help feeling a sense of doom at the prospect of this rambunctious family of eight surviving summer together in an RV.
