Students are perfect on ACT; others earn honors

Lemont High School junior Molly Thornber added her name to a select list of Lemont High School students when she recorded a 36 on the ACT during the February administra­tion of the exam. She is just the seventh Lemont High School student ever to achieve the feat.

„ Connor Todd, a junior at Providence Catholic High School in New Lenox, earned a perfect 36 on the ACT test. The Orland Hills resident plans on studying architectu­ral engineerin­g in college.

Area conservati­on leaders finish master’s studies

Having applied the tools of science, education and conservati­on to become leaders in conversati­on communitie­s, Orland Park’s Nesreen Sadi and Manhattan’s Laura Boyle, both graduate students in the Global Field Program and Advanced Inquiry Program from Miami University’s Project Dragonfly, recently completed their master’s studies in biology.

Tinley Park’s Yanik receives accounting award

Sarah Yanik of Tinley Park received the Byron R. Ross Awards for Teaching Excellence from the Henry B. Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa.

Beverly’s Neely takes first place in civics competitio­n

Beverly resident Malachi Neely, a student at De La Salle Institute, was the first place winner in the high school division of the Law Day Youth Civics Contest.

Hickory Hills’ Guzman participat­es in virtual service week

Hickory Hills resident Jennifer Guzman participat­ed in Virtual Service Week 2021 at Canisius College. Guzman, a junior, is pursuing a degree in animal behavior ecology conservati­on.

Oak Lawn’s Cipriani honored at Ripon College

Oak Lawn’s Dominica Cipriani recently joined the Psi Chi Honor Society at Ripon College. The senior is majoring in psychology with a minor in criminal justice.

Frankfort’s Kruzel excelling in Hawaii

Brittany Kruzel, a 2018 graduate from Lincoln-Way East, made the dean’s list for the fifth consecutiv­e time this spring at the University of Hawaii-Manoa. Kruzel, a resident of Frankfort, enters her senior year as a double major in business management and digital cinema.
