Tom Skilling’s forecast
84 68 High Low
In coming days winds aloft will become more and more west to southwesterly, steering warm moisture-laden air into our area. Along with widespread cloudiness,
short-wave low pressure disturbances aloft will rotate over northern Illinois and northwest Indiana triggering periods of showers and thunderstorms. If rainfall projections pan out, we could receive from 1 to 3-inches of rain north and even more to our south.
Just last Sunday the portion of our area north and west of Chicago experiencing Severe to Extreme drought received a welcome 1 to 2.5-inches of rain, and another 1 to 2-inches-plus could really alleviate and possibly reverse the dry conditions they have experienced the first half of this year.
