This marked the fifth state appearance in eight years for the softball team at the school in Frankfort, and the second year in a row the Lady Tigers have finished as runner-up to Glenwood Middle School in Chatham.

Varsity softball team members included Kate Boender, Becca Brewer, Bella Cortes, Julia Donnellan, Grace Duncan, Charlotte Hickling, Reagan Johnson, Lila Kemerer, Jillian Kwiecinski, Alida LaDere, Caroline Marneris, Haley Muehlnickel and Lauren Muehlnickel.

Coach Mitch Stein praised his team’s efforts this fall, finishing 20-4 overall and narrowly missing out on a championship trophy, losing a 7-6 heartbreaker in the final.

“Above all, the girls showed passion for the game of softball and a love and respect for their teammates,” Stein said. “This was a true team effort all season with a wonderful combination of hitting, defense, pitching and sportsmanship. A season to remember.”
