Mr. Stennis Clardy, 85, passed away on April 29, 2024, at Waverly Care Home in West Point. Stennis was born on October 28, 1938, in the Self Creek Community of Oktibbeha County, to the late Jim Joe and Annie Ostrander Clardy. Mr. Stennis worked as a “B” Fitter Welder for Babcock and Wilcox for 27 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing, and all sports. He was a faithful Mississipp­i State Bulldog fan. He was a member of Self Creek Baptist Church, but attended Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He married Glenda Moore Clardy on February 27, 1959, in West Point and together they enjoyed 65 years.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Eva Pearl White, Maxine Elliott, and Jimmie Norwood and a brother, Boyce Clardy.

Visitation will be on Friday, May 3, 2024, from 12:002:00 P.M. at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Towery officiatin­g. Burial will follow in Palestine Cemetery in Montpelier. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is honored to be entrusted with the arrangemen­ts.

Survivors include his wife, Glenda Moore Clardy of 65 years, one son, Danny Clardy, and one sister-in-law, Norma Clardy, all of West Point, and a number of nieces, nephews, and a number of other extended family.

Pallbearer­s will be Jimmy Wallace, Andy Moore, Earl Clardy, Eddie Clardy, John Clardy, Glen Norwood, Wayne Ray, and Kenny Simmons.

Honorary Pallbearer­s will be Carl Bryan, Jason Bryan, Matt Matthews, and his many former co-workers at Babcock &Wilcox.
