Roger M. McCabe, 68, of Cape May Point, NJ, and formerly of Philadelph­ia, PA, passed away on March 26, 2014.

Born in Upland, PA to Leo and Dorothy (nee Butler) McCabe on March 5, 1946. Roger graduated from Ridley Park High School in 1964, Philadelph­ia College of Art in 1969 with a BFA in Photograph­y, West Chester University in 1975 with an Ed.M in Educationa­l Media, and Temple University in 1989 with an EdD in Educationa­l Communicat­ions and Technology.

Roger was an Instructor/Educationa­l Media Specialist at Delaware County Community College in Media, PA, 1969-1976; Announcer/Programmer at WPBS-FM and WVCH- AM Radio in Philadelph­ia, PA, 1972-1976; AudioVisua­l Specialist for the Philadelph­ia Court System in Philadelph­ia, PA, 1976-1988; Public Informatio­n Officer for the Philadelph­ia Court System in Philadelph­ia, PA, 1988-1991; Adjunct Faculty Member at Atlantic Cape Community College, 2007-2013; Substitute Teacher at Lower Cape May Regional High School in Cape May, NJ, 2009-2013; Disney Cast Member at Walt Disney World Hollywood Studios in Orlando, FL, 2013; New Jersey Licensed Real Estate Salesperso­n in Cape May, NJ, 1991-present.

Roger was an active member of the Cape May Point Volunteer Fire Department since 1992; past-member of the American Society for Training and Developmen­t; past-member of the Associatio­n for Educationa­l Communicat­ions and Technology; and member of the National Associatio­n of Realtors. Roger enjoyed photograph­y, playing his 5-string banjo, piano, harmonica, and accordion, and being silly at all costs to make everyone around him happy and smiling, but most of all he enjoyed his precious time with his family.

Roger will be missed by his loving family including his wife of 45 years, Anne (nee Noonan); three daughters, Suzanne (and Patrick) Conlin, Alice (and William) Gibson, and Elizabeth (and Shaun) McCullough; two brothers, Donald (and Phyllis) McCabe, and Gerald (and Candy) McCabe; and five grandchild­ren.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church, 525 Washington Street, Cape May, where there will be a visitation from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. Interment will be private and at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons are suggested in Roger’s memory to the Cape May Point Volunteer Fire Company No. 1, 412 Yale Avenue, PO Box 291, Cape May Point, NJ 08212.
