HOLD ON CHRISTMAS

I agree with the caller saying that having at Christmas products and decorations out already is far too early, but I’m puzzled by their claim that we should blame the Republicans. I think that businesses owned by people of both political parties are responsible for the rush on the Christmas season. I also think it would good if we went back to not starting the Christmas holiday until the day after Thanksgiving. Having Christmas start this early makes the special holiday of Thanksgiving almost irrelevant, which is wrong in my view.

BAD SIGNS

I agree with the caller saying the election signs should be coming down. Is this going to be another year where the signs stay up for months and months after Election Day?

COUNT ON IT

I was in a store the other day and the computers went down. Oh boy, the kids had a problem. They couldn’t even add or subtract in their heads. Like I said before and I’ll say again: When the computer down go, the old way always works. Remember that. The old way always works, not the new way.

LISTEN UP

I totally agree with “Concerned Senior Citizen.” Taxes are way too high, they want to cut Social Security, they don’t want to pay the cost-of-living increase, etc. So I concur with this caller, and I think more people should be aware of these problems. I compliment the Times for allowing us to express our opinion about this. After all, we are taxpayers and some of us have served in the military and other things, so hopefully some of our elected officials will take notice and start doing something and instead of talking about doing something.

BARRY TO BLAME

“Blaming Insurers” calls in and wants us to believe it’s not Obama’s fault that the premiums and deductibles in health care went up. Well, I’ve got a question: is it just a coincidence that the deductibles and premiums happen to go up just when Obamacare gets pushed through? Two and two is still four. Yes, it really is Obama’s fault.

PURE EVIL

“Ben’s For The Rich” has to be confused. They say that Ben Carson is a very good man and his heart is in the right place, but that his tax policy is going to hurt regular people and help the rich. That doesn’t sound like a man who’s very good or whose heart is in the right place to me.

NO JUSTICE

Our government spent $43 million to build a gas station in Afghanistan which no one is using. And yet Social Security participants can’t get a teeny, weeny raise next year. They also spent $15 million building a warehouse in Afghanistan which is empty. But Congress did vote themselves a nice raise and decided none for the men and women who volunteer to join our Armed Services and are willing to put their lives in danger fighting for our country. Is there any justice in this foolish spending which seems to go on all of the time? We just don’t count and are last in line. Wake up, folks.

TECH SUPPORT CALLING

To “It’s Not The IRS,” along with the IRS telephone scam trying to steal from people, there are the obnoxious calls from “Microsoft Tech Support” wanting to get to your computer and infect it with who knows what, or access your personal information. If the IRS scammer calls me, I’ll just give him the phone number to “Microsoft Tech Support,” then they can hammer

ALL IS ROSY

I guess all the callers saying that Obama has destroyed the country haven’t been reading the papers and haven’t seen that our employment rate is down to 5 percent now and that the Fed is thinking of hiking rates because our economy is doing so well.

END THE TAX TALK

“Disgusted Former Republican” and people like them should quit complaining. Gas prices are still very low, even with the additional tax we have. This tax revenue is going to help our state, but people like you don’t care about helping our state.
