Free meals served at White Rock Cafe

-

CHESTER » White Rock Christian Church, 308 W. Third St., opens its doors to the community 6-7:30 p.m. on the first and third Friday nights of the month for a free hot meal at the White Rock Cafe.

All are welcome to attend.

The White Rock Cafe is an initiative to provide food, warmth and fellowship in a comfortable setting. It is not attached to a any church service or bible study. It seeks to reach the “churched, un-churched” and “de-churched” — people who attend church every Sunday, never entered a church or once attended church. Guests are encouraged to participate in an alternative to other Friday night activities. White Rock Cafe was launched a few years ago in response to increased homelessness, unemployment and hunger.

Since its inception, White Rock Christian Church’s White Rock Cafe has served hundreds of homeless, community members and friends. The White Rock Cafe goal is to serve hundreds more this season. The Cafe will be open every first and third Friday through April.
