Elizabeth (Bette) Stephey, age 87, of Glen Mills, PA, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2016.

Born in New Castle, DE on April 23, 1928, Bette spent most of her life in Delaware County where she attended Boothwyn High School.

She began her business career in the early 60’s in home demonstrat­ion sales with CopperCraf­t Guild, Princess House, and Queensway Fashion, where she was district manager of recruiting and training of sales counselors. She then became a licensed insurance agent with Sun Life Insurance Company of America. She notably was the first female agent in the area and after only one year, qualified for the Presidents Club, receiving company wide sales leadership recognitio­n. Those years in sales prepared her for a successful 25 year career as a real estate agent with Century 21, Calderon Brothers in Aston. Bette was a member of the Pennsylvan­ia Associatio­n of Realtors and was also actively involved with the Easter Seals Foundation.

She was a loyal Philadelph­ia sports fan and especially enjoyed watching the Phillies with her husband in their later years. She was the family photograph­er and was an avid bowler. She bowled locally in several leagues, one being the Chester Wom- ens Major League, and participat­ed in many national tournament­s. Her love of bowling was passed on to her son.

Bette treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchild­ren and great grandchild­ren.

Bette was the daughter of the late William Dadds and Mildred Marantino, wife of the late Albert Stephey, mother of the late Kathleen Talley, mother-inlaw of the late Peter Orleski and sister of the late Robert Marantino.

Bette is survived by her daughters, Barbara Hawkins and Jacalyn Orleski, her son Timothy Hawkins, her sons-inlaw, David Talley and Carl Trainor, her sisters Theresa Durbano, Rita Robinson, and Lois West, and brother Jack Marantino. She will also be missed by her 8 grandchild­ren and 14 great-grandchild­ren.

Visitation: Friday from 9:30-10:15am at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home, 5980 Chichester Ave., Aston, PA. Funeral Service: Friday at Nolan-Fidale Funeral Home at 10:30am. Burial: Private.
