Inaugural class needed for Garnet Valley HOF
CONCORD >> The Garnet Valley Education Foundation is soliciting nominations for the newly established Garnet Valley Hall of Fame.
The Garnet Valley School District Hall of Fame is organized as a means of recognizing, preserving and promoting the proud traditions of excellence in the district.
The Hall of Fame Committee believes that many individuals have made extraordinary contributions and achieved remarkable accomplishments in the Garnet Valley school community. The hall of fame intends to honor the contributions and accomplishments of these individuals who are worthy of recognition and examples for others to emulate.
The committee is asking community members to nominate a Garnet Valley School District graduate whose contributions were extraordinary in one or all of the following areas: Arts and Athletics; Business and Innovation; and Service and Humanitarianism.
The nominee’s accomplishments must have garnered local, regional, and/ or national recognition. Additionally, the nominee must be a graduate of the district and embody the highest standards of ethicalconduct and moral character while exemplifying the ideals that the school community wishes its students to emulate and aspire.
All nominees shall have significant and/or longterm contributions. To nominate an individual, community members can go to the district website or call Marge Brown, Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent at 610579-7367. The nomination deadline is Sept. 1.
The Garnet Valley Education Foundation, which is a charitable nonprofit organization that operates in partnership with the school district and is dedicated to maximizing student opportunities in academics, extracurricular activities, and social and emotional learning through donations and other alternative funding sources, is sponsoring the Hall of Fame.
A fund raiser and induction dinner is planned for Thursday, Oct. 13 at the Concordville Inn to celebrate the inductees.
