Doris V. Cochran, 88, a lifelong resident of Essington, passed away peacefully on March 28, 2017 at the Prospect Park Health and Rehabilita­tion Center in Prospect Park.

Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Hobart and Mary Boyd. Doris was a resident of Essington for all of her life. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Tinicum Lutheran Church in Essington; where she sang in the choir and was involved with the Ladies’ Crafters at the church for many years. Most of all, she will be remembered as a woman who was devoted to her family and her church.

Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, John Edward Cochran, Sr.

She is survived by her husband, Charles Spicer; her three children; her five grandchild­ren; and her five great-grandchild­ren.

Her Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, April 4th, at 10:30 A.M. at the Griffith Funeral Chapel, 520 Chester Pike, in Norwood, Pa. 19074.

There will be a visitation time on Tuesday from 9 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.

Her burial will be private.

In lieu of flowers, contributi­ons made in her memory to St. John’s Tinicum Lutheran Church, 601 Seneca Street, Essington, Pa. 19029 would be appreciate­d.
