A SALUTE TO DR. GAL

I would like to congratulate and say many thanks to Dr. Andrei Gal of Chester Pike Animal Hospital in Glenolden for always being very compassionate towards people who bring their animals and need help, especially the people bringing in stray cats considering the cat problem in the county. He does his best to do everything possible to help the animal have a better life, and in most cases saves the animals’ lives. Thanks to Dr. Gal and to Sheri, Becky, Mike and the rest of the staff. Thanks for being true, true animal lovers; it’s not just about the money. Thanks again and much love. BAR FROM ALDAN

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

Why is it when you support charity and they send you a thank you letter, they also send you an envelope and a request for more money? A thank you letter is fine but it’s not really needed. The best one I received recently was a thank you letter and a letter for me that they shared my name and phone number and address with various other charities, and if I don’t want that to give them a call. So I have a surprise for them: I’ll never call them and I’ll never contribute to them again even though the charity deals with something that personally affected my life. I get enough junk mail already.

FOLLOW MANDELA

To “And They Cling To Guns,” Nelson Mandela said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” You need more ammo. Give me salt-of-the-earth types over pompous any day. My four college degrees mean nothing without humility, vision, respect and maturity. You should embrace those four tenets. STEPHEN IN PROSPECT

THANK THE UNIONS

I read the article in the Times where IBEW Local 654 President Bill Adams said “people don’t understand you union electricians.” People don’t understand unions at all anymore. Since Reagan, people been fed the rightwing lie that unions are bad and corporations are good, and for some reason these people actually believe the right-wingers when they’re telling them this. Now how stupid is that? If it wasn’t for you is it wouldn’t even be a middle class.

RUN OFF THE ROAD

Now I hear Nissan is recalling its cars. What’s next, every car on the market? Like I said before, if it ain’t steel, it ain’t real. The whole society needs to hear it. You can drive all the plastic junk and high tech you want today, but give me a ‘57 Chevy, ‘59 Cadillac or a ‘62 Ford Fairlane any day of the week, period.

TIME TO UNITE

I saw the headline on Jodine Mayberry’s column, “There are many ways to fight the Trump regime.” I didn’t even read it because we shouldn’t be fighting, we should be getting together to make this country better than it has been.

THE WRONG STUFF

You know what gets me about the Republican Party? They’re always preaching how this is right and that is right, but Trump and his rich buddies want to take away Meals on Wheels. The Republican Party is nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.

WE NEED SINGLE PAYER

“Here It Comes” says that the Democrats’ endgame was to have Obamacare collapse. Well, I guess they think it’s going to collapse because Donald Trump says so, and we all know what a truth teller Donald Trump is. And this caller doesn’t like a single-payer system. Well, every other civilized country in the world has a single-payer system. We don’t because we’re not quite as civilized as the rest of the world, and this caller is extremely uncivilized and extremely stupid for not wanting a single-payer system.

ALL FOR ONE

To this “I Want My Medicare” person: You know something? You’re so stupid because you’re the one that’s getting ripped off by the big CEOS who are taking away from your retirement. It’s not the people. If everybody had Medicare, everybody would be equal – rich, middle class and poor. But people like you that are stupid don’t understand that it’s the CEOs and the big health insurance companies are the ones ripping you off.

, not the people. Remember that.
