Rigby and McLarnon team up for Penncrest

Olivia Rigby singled in Annalise McLarnon with the go-ahead run in the top of the sixth inning Wednesday and Penncrest held on to a 4-3 Central League victory over Radnor.

Earlier in the sixth, McLarnon hit a single to knock in Megan Clancy with the tying run. Maya Hartman pitched a fourhit shutout to lead the Lions (5-0) to their fifth straight win to start the season. GARNET VALLEY 2, LOWER MERION 1 » Lindsey Hunt led off the sixth inning of a tie game with a triple and came home to score the go-ahead run on an RBI groundout by Makenna Valente. Hunt also doubled and scored a run on Audrey Shenk’s single. MARPLE NEWTOWN 9, STRATH HAVEN 2 » Maggie Colsher’s bases-clearing triple in the top of the seventh inning broke the game open for the Tigers (2-2, 2-2). Nicole Atkins went 3-for-4 with a double and three ribbies and Ceire Devlin-Mohan pitched the win.

Sophie Bolinger went 3-for-3 with a triple for Haven. UPPER DARBY 9, CONESTOGA 0 » Rebecca Sorrentino pitched a three-hit shutout and smashed a home run for the Royals (310) Brooke Jones belted two doubles and All-Delco Lexi Witmer added three singles. HAVERFORD 8, RIDLEY 7 » Madison Lane and Morgan Marchesani each roped a triple for the Fords, who erased an early 2-0 deficit with a five-run fourth inning. Leigh Ann Jenkins homered for Ridley. SPRINGFIEL­D 8, HARRITON4» The Cougars (7-0) jumped out to a 7-0 lead after three innings, which was more than enough run support for winning pitcher Jenna Casasanto. Caitlyn Chambers was 2-for-2 with a double and two RBIs. Ashley Scarpato, Victoria Ciascullo and Casey McAnally each collected a two-base knock.

In the Bicentenni­al League: CHRISTIAN ACADEMY 20, PLUMSTEAD CHRISTIAN 2 » Grace Gormley and Lindsay Haseltine powered the TCA bats. Gormley slugged two doubles, a single and knocked in a pair of runs. Haseltine singled, doubled and drove in four. CHRISTOPHE­R DOCK 11, DELCO CHRISTIAN 5 » Erin Mulholland doubled and knocked in a pair of RBIs for the Knights, who churned out 17 hits. Molly Harnish collected three hits and two RBIs.

In the Ches-Mont League: SUN VALLEY 10, OCTORARA 0 » Maddy Gutowiecz pitched six innings of two-hit ball with six Ks and helped her cause with a triple and a pair of RBIs as the Vanguards (32) cruised to their third straight win. All-Delco Kenzie Lewis (three runs), Alayna Lloyd (two RBIs), Cassidy Bridwell (two RBIs) and Madison Koons had two hits apiece.

In nonleague action: HILL SCHOOL 6, AGNES IRWIN3» Mary Naylor went 3-for-4 with a triple. Michaela Maciolek and Lilly Delzelov each had a single and a double.
