Interboro erupts for 16 hits, rolls past Glen Mills

Pitcher Tim Convery and Tariq Assadi lifted Interboro to a 13-3 win over Glen Mills in Del Val League baseball Friday.

Convery, a sophomore, went 3-for-3 with a double to notch his first varsity decision.

Assadi was 3-for-3 with a home run and three RBI’s to keep the Buccaneers (3-0 overall and league) perfect on the season.

Dom Scribano went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run homer while Shawn Flynn and Mike Ventura added doubles as the Bucs ripped 16 hits.

In Inter-Ac action: MALVERN PREP 6, HAVERFORD SCHOOL 5 >> The Fords were shelled for six runs in the top of the seventh inning, then had their rally snuffed out with the potential winning run on second in the bottom of the frame.

Bryan Hyland slugged three hits, including a couple of doubles, Justin Myer belted two doubles and Dave Hoggarth had a pair of hits for the Fords. PENN CHARTER 11, EPISCOPAL ACADEMY 1>> Jack O’Reilly got the only hit and drove in the lone run in the five-inning loss for the Churchmen, who didn’t help their cause with 11 errors.

Pro prospect Joey Lancellott­i struck out 13 and belted a two-run homer for Penn Charter. Lancellott­i hurled 76 pitches, 52 for strikes.

Sammy Siani, James Gabor and Adam Holland drove in two runs each.

Boys Tennis

Haverford cruised to a 6-1 over Conestoga, sweeping the matches and dominating doubles.

John Walsh and Connor Lees triumphed in straight sets at first and second singles. Grayson Potter defeated Carson Lortz in three sets at third singles, edging his opponent by a 10-6 tiebreaker.

Will McDevitt and Benji Bacharach, Julius Golz and Emilio Fink and Jared Hoefner and Cole Wolf all prevailed in doubles for the Fords.
