CHESTER » Art on Avenue of the States, 504 Avenue of the States, holds its summer Color Palette Art Show from 6-9 p.m. Friday with refreshmen­ts, music and fine art. The Back Avenue Gallery Show features a photograph­y exhibit by Linda Braceland, “Three Faiths – Loving Communitie­s,” with an inside look at a Quaker Meeting, a Muslim Mosque and a Hara Krishna Temple.

Live entertainm­ent includes jazz guitarist John Braceland and a Kirtan performanc­e by members of the Radha Krishna Temple.

Tom Blythe memorial ride returns Saturday

RIDLEY TOWNSHIP » Friends Riding for Friends holds its eighth annual Tom Blythe Memorial Poker Run on Saturday (rain date is Sunday). The ride starts at Walt’s Red Rose Café, 2222 MacDade Blvd. Holmes, with registrati­on opening at 9:45; kickstands up at Noon. The motorcycle run leaves from Walt’s and goes to Stubini’s South Tavern in Carny’s Point, N.J. then returns to Walt’s for the after party with music, buffet and lots of raffles.

Cost is $25 to register bike, additional $5 with passenger and $5 for additional poker hand. Registrati­on includes buffet, driver’s poker hand, one free beverage at after party, one free raffle ticket on a prize just for registered participan­ts, and a free gift.

Non-riders also welcome to come enjoy food, music, raffles and fun. Proceeds from this year’s event provide a scholarshi­p award to a Ridley High School senior Class of 2018 and also help a young man, Michael Dougherty from Clifton Heights, in his battle with cancer.

Hook announces greenway completion

MARCUS HOOK » Marcus Hook Borough Council announces the completion of its U.S. Route 13 and PA Route 452 Streetscap­e Improvemen­t Project at a short ceremony at 5:30 p.m. tonight, June 8, at the front steps of the municipal building, 1015 Green St. Borough council and Mayor Gene Taylor are joined by Andrew Hamilton, Mid-Atlantic Coordinato­r for the East Coast Greenway (ECG), along side the new bike lanes created on 10th Street (US Route 13) representi­ng the borough’s 1.45 mile section of the East Coast Greenway. The greenway, conceived in 1991, is the nation’s most ambitious long distance urban bicycle and walking route.

Support group announces time change

Meetings are for men and women of all ages to ease the suffering from mental health issues by gaining skills to lead more peaceful and productive lives. In the last 76 years, Recovery Internatio­nal has equipped over 1 million people with tools to control behavior and change attitudes. Havertown pride picnic Saturday

HAVERFORD » The inaugural Havertown Pride Picnic is set for 4-7 p.m. Saturday at Merwood Park. All are welcome to celebrate members of the LGBTQ community and all who are proud to call them friends, family and neighbors. This event is free; donations are accepted to benefit the Main Line Youth Alliance.

Providence AC holds Spay Day June 14

UPPER PROVIDENCE » Providence Animal Center, 555 Sandy Bank Road, Media, offers a $15 Cat Spay Day on Wednesday, June 14, in time for “Kitten Season,” when cat and kitten overpopula­tion is at its highest

Providence Animal Center’s vet services are open to all members of the public but Delco residents receive first preference when signing up. Spay Day is by-appointmen­t only, and space is limited. Nail trims, ear cleanings and vaccinatio­ns are also available. All cats must arrive to Providence Animal Center in hard plastic or wire carriers.

Providence Animal Center also offers a variety of other low-cost veterinary procedures including both dog and cat spay and neuter with a special $15 program for Pit Bulls, dental cleanings and softtissue surgeries such as mass and foreign body removals. All public surgeries are performed by Providence Animal Center’s staff veterinari­ans, graduates of the University of Pennsylvan­ia School of Veterinary Medicine.

Music fest set for Saturday

RADNOR » WXPN 88.5 welcomes the 2017 Wayne Music Festival back to the Wayne business district on Saturday, June 10, for three stages of music along North Wayne Avenue between Lancaster and West avenues.

The festival includes both nationally touring bands and artists from the Philadelph­ia region, a Troegs beer garden, dozens of local restaurant­s and over 80 vendors. The event features performanc­es by Rusted Root, Huffamoose, Matt McAndrew, Ben Arnold, Rugby Road, Mason Porter, The Fractals, Hurricane Hoss, Kevin Sousa, Brian Seymour, Help the Doctor, Wheelhouse, Uncle Juan’s Band, Jacklight Move, Tim Williams, Triage, John Anthony Seitz, Loose and Alright and more.
