DOG GONE IT!

I wish you didn’t put John’s Doggie Shop in the paper. We were there Friday and it was packed with a long line outside in this heat.

SHOW ME THE STRAWBERRIES

Anybody out there ever see “The Caine Mutiny?” Does Captain Queeg remind you of someone in the news a lot these days?

DIGITAL SMIGITAL

All these markets are getting ridiculous; you have to do these digital coupons. Everybody should go to the discount grocery stores and let these supermarkets go bankrupt. It’s ridiculous because for one thing everybody doesn’t have a digital phone because they can’t afford it, and for another why do I have to do that? It’s not that big of discount, anyway. So everybody go to the discount groceries and tell the markets to go bankrupt. It’s getting ridiculous.

SPARE SOUND OFF

I notice occasionally there are people like “Kill The Sound Off” who think it’s a waste of time, there are too many people voicing their bad opinions, it’s too anti-Trump, it’s too anti-this or that. Please, leave the Sound Off. It is one of the most amusing sections of the entire newspaper. It’s so surprising to see how many uneducated, uninformed people on both sides of the aisle there around living in your surrounding neighborhoods. It’s a joke – no, it’s better than a joke. It’s better than any night at the comedy club!

HERE COMES TEMPLE

It’s a common remark that Philadelphia is not a college-football city, thus local sports readers have to suffer through endless trivia about Penn State’s monopolistic team. Being in a remote location and having inflated self-opinion keeps the Nittany Lions from really having any Philadelphia identity. However, there will be a welcome fresh wind in September at the Linc, when Temple hosts two consecutive games with two of the county’s most prestigious Catholic universities — Notre Dame and Villanova. They are sports and academic powerhouses that have tremendous alumni support. Good luck, Temple, and good news for Philadelphia football fans.
