- ‘NOT IN MY BACKYARD’ JUST SAYING IN ASTON EX-FRIEND OF A FRIEND OF A FRIEND OF A COMMITTEEMAN

THE CWA WAY

Last Wednesday afternoon at rush hour at Route 1 and Cheyney Road, there was a major main break. One water company man was there shutting the leak off. When I rode by Saturday, you couldn’t even tell they had a leak. The road has been restored and everything looks great. Way to go, Chester Water. Good job. SAM THE FLORIST

IS BULLWINKLE A DROPOUT?

The callers talking about old cartoons and the passing of June Foray made me wonder something again: Do we know for sure if Bullwinkle actually graduated from Wossamotta U? He seems like one of those guys who dropped out after a couple of years and tells everyone he went there but weasels around specifying whether he actually graduated. BORIS FROM POTTSYLVANIA

BAHHHHH-D NEWS

To “Try Customer Service,” I agree with “Digital Smigital.” I don’t have a smart phone but do have a computer. Why should I have to put the coupons on my card for places that I shop? Yes, I’ve seen the kiosk the customer service, but why should I do that? If retailers want us shop at their establishment, they should put the items on sale for everybody and not make people jump through hoops. It’s just another example of making us sheep. THE SHEPHERD

TOONS OF GLORY

To all those callers who want those old cartoons to watch, a lot of them are on DVD. I have a shelf with a lot of them, Bugs Bunny, “Tom and Jerry,” “Johnny Quest.” Check Walmart or check online. They’re not hard to find. CARTOON FAN WHO KNOWS

NIMBY BE GONE

I’m glad people are calling out these pipeline protesters on their nonsense. Would these people rather transport NGLs completely by road, ship and rail while burning tons of fossil fuels?

BY GEORGE

“George, O.E.” is another typical Republican who could care less about people’s well water being polluted, as long as middle class people can build the pipeline. What kind of stupidity is that?

LEFT ALONE

“Rich And Greedy” says that deregulation only helps the extremely rich and people who want to pollute the environment. Also, they’re one of these leftist callers who likes to talk about “facts.” Maybe they should just the facts on what happened with the deregulation of the Internet and GPS over the last 25 years.

KNOCK IT OFF

I’d like to add my voice to those who complain about the present offensive tone of Sound Off. “Bob” calling “Tom” stupid one day and Tom responding the next with an equal insult is tiresome. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH

JODINE NAILS IT

Jodine Mayberry had another great column Friday. I love the Sound Off people that scream and yell about how terrible she is. You know what that means – she’s hitting the nail on the head and they don’t like it. So go, Jodine, the truth is good. I love the columns and can’t wait to read the next one.

JUST THE FACTS

“Dem In Delco” says everyone has a opinion and people can express them without belittling each other. Calling middle class and poor people stupid for voting Republican is not an opinion. It is a fact. Republicans do nothing to help the middle class and the poor and haven’t done anything to help the middle class or the poor anywhere in the last 50 years, and if people in the middle class and poor people keep voting Republican, that makes them stupid.

KEEP ON WINNING!

Boy, I wished the Republicans would keep their mouth shut – always condemning Hillary Clinton and Barack. I’ll tell you something – look at who they put in there. What a winner he is with his own party going against him. Come on, Republicans, wake up, man. You put a loser in there, just like you did with Reagan, Nixon, and Bush and Cheney. Even Herbert Hoover was a loser.
