MUSIC TO THEIR EARS

My husband and I went to see “The Hunchback of Notre Dame” at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. It was our first time and we didn’t know what to expect, but I wanted to tell you what a wonderful production it was. Kudos to everyone involved. It was Broadwaycaliber. D.T. IN MEDIA

BRING IT HOME

The caller who said the retirement age of Social Security must be raised sooner or later is either nuts or very naive. All we have to do is stop spending all that money on charity and everything else overseas and put that money in Social Security. Social Security would be so flush with money they wouldn’t know what to do it. JUST WONDERING DAN

FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS

Here’s a real problem. Saturday night, prime time – I pay $200 a month to watch TV – and what is on ESPN and ESPN2? It’s a Barcelona and Real Madrid soccer game. It’s soccer. Who cares? This is what I fought and pay taxes for? I don’t think so. Give me a break.

WEEDS RULE

I grew up in Essington, and I’m a concerned citizen about the John Heinz Wildlife Refuge where the old pier used to be. I tried bringing my kids back there to walk and there’s no room to walk. Aren’t people paid to remove the weeds so us residents can enjoy our time there?

ONE SAD STORY

How sad is it to hear a group of men brag about catching the biggest shark ever. What they did was torture for one hour a beautiful animal that was minding its own business in its own environment. What pain that animal must have felt with its insides being ripped apart as it fought for its life.

SCORE WITH THE TRADES

To “Flip Out,” I need to agree, yet disagree. True, with the right education, economy, timing, etc., one can be successful with a college education. I’m proof, making six figures. However, do not discount the trades, as I know of at least one union employee, a young man, who makes $89 per hour for Saturday/ Sunday work, and he has more work than he can handle. His weekday rates put him in an annualized low six-figure earnings. The key is: Make yourself marketable, work hard, do a good job. WHAT DO YOU HAVE IN TRADE?

TRUMP TRIUMPHANT

To the callers asking for Trump’s accomplishments so far: He got his first choice of Supreme Court justice approved; his tough talk reduced cross boarder illegal immigration by 72 percent; his economic platform motivated consumer confidence together with corporate earnings to push stock market to historic high; unemployment rate drop to lowest level in 19 years; he motivated three of our most experienced generals to leave retirement for his administration; he motivated about six NATO members to start paying their agreed upon dues for the first time ever; helped Congressional approval of sale of American coal to Ukraine thus improving employment in coal industry and reducing Ukraine’s dependence on Russian energy. I hope the Times will publish this info, unlike most news media which don’t want the American people to know the accomplishments but only the mistakes of this new administration.

GOOD OLD RON

Everybody has this glowing love for Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan – wasn’t he an actor? I think we loved him because he got shot. And another thing, wasn’t he friends with the Russians? I think he colluded with the Russians to get elected.

GET READY

Yeah, this to “John From Eddystone:” You couldn’t be more wrong. Trump is the most patriotic person in the country. And you better get used to it – you got seven more years of it. TRUMP 2020

PAT WHO?

I don’t know why any Republican would vote for Pat Meehan. He seems to be proudly against what the Republicans what are trying to accomplish. The agenda will be the same if people vote for Meehan or a Democratic opponent.
